Hi,
I have a flight with BA on the 28th of May next year flying SYD-SIN-LHR in Y+ and same back again on the 28th of June
I have looked at purchasing a seat selection for these flights as I would really like the 2 window seats for myself and partner. The space and privacy would be great as last long haul flight we were on she developed DVT!! So this time she will be up and stretching etc as often as possible!
The problem is that at the moment all the 2 seat pairs are either occupied or blocked.
My question is. Can anyone tell me what the current load is, and whether some of these seats will open up at online check-in?

I assume you don't have OW Emerald status?
The front row can look 'occupied' when in fact they are not - they are not available to non-status customers until 24 hours from check-in, because the front row has bassinet capacity. BA reserves those seats for parents travelling with infants.
The bassinet seats are excellent on Y+ because you can open the bassinet table and use it for stowage during the flight. It's great for trays etc you no longer want, or for holding your laptop as you watch a movie.
If you phone BA them you might be able to reserve the seat, but they are likely to charge you £20 for it. The only alternative is to wait until 24 hours before check-in and try to grab the seats quickly then. The problem with this approach is that you risk having a Gold EC member grab it from you.
