I odn't know about the TATL flights, but the only UA Y+ experience I've had was on a Q400 and I was NOT impressed. I k
noticed NO difference in the seats, and there was no bulkhead storage. And, the window was so far forward I nearly had to leave my seat to look out of it.
Once again, I know there is a BIG difference between a Q400 for 1.5 hours and a 767/777 for 8-9 hours, but still.

I wouldn't use this post as a basis for judgement.

There's nothing particularly magical about E+. You get some extra legroom. Only you can decide if that's worth it. If you are tall, probably yes. If not, maybe. If $300 doesn't suit your budget, then not. I'm not real sure what you are asking us to tell you ...

UA E+ is only a couple of inches of extra legroom. That is all. Your decision is if that will make a difference on your flights and if any perceived difference is worth the cost.

That's it. I'm quite tall and the one time that I could blow $100 on the upgrade (TATL on a 777 with the old 2-5-2 configuration), I loved the extra space. But it was an extra and not worth saving up for.

Thank you for the replies folks. Since I'm not tall (only 5'10" and my girlfriend is a bit shorter than myself), I will stick to regular Econ when I go to book the flights. I'm so excited to go back to Paris. She has never been so I'm taking her there to propose!

Hey there!
If you are 5'10" with longer legs and shorter torso, you may want to do the upgrade. I am 6'2" with longer legs so I found the United Economy Plus option much more enjoyable for even a short flight LAX-LAS. I usually fly KLM Economy Comfort as there is also 50% more recline and this makes all the difference! What is the recline on Econ+ versus Econ with United?
Keep in mind there are passengers in front of you that will recline their seat, therefore obstructing your personal space. Also, being able to comfortably reach for personal items underneath the seat in front of you during the flight. If you duty free shop and the overhead space is full, you will have more space to store your purchases within your seat space. And the overall perception of your flight comfort will rate higher in Economy Plus. Think about the before and after B-767 flights with and without Boeing Signature Interior. Which one seems "better?"

Well if you *really* need the extra legroom, then I guess it's worth it. Besides that, other than sitting near the front of the plane (which most passengers probably don't care that much), Economy Plus is just Economy with a sticker on your tray table that says "Reserved for Economy Plus"
I get complimentary E+ seating as a MP elite member, and I probably wouldn't pay that much for a couple of inches of legroom since I don't really need it. UA's legroom on the regular rows are pretty standard anways.

E+ on the mainline UA aircraft give an abundance of legroom in comparison to the regular Y seats especially on the 757's and toward the front of the cabin. I would garner the legroom is about the same as a domsetic first class seat.

Hey DFW congrats on the upcoming special day.!!
Check out tripadvisor.com for hotels unless you prefer a specific brand like Marriott or Hilton, then still check the reviews out and even contact the hotel to tell the of your special day and for any rooms/suites they may have over and above the regular rooms you can book online.
