I am planning a trip to the USA. The cheapest I found would be
be with Air Canad via Toronto to Chicago and back with Brussels Airlines A-330 from JFK to Brussels.
I would be flying in Y Class .
How is the service compared to LH/UA/AC?
I could also choose to fly from EWR to BRU on UA (B-764 fromer CO) , better option?
I am Star Gold , so can I use the Star Gold Lounge (LH Senator) at JFK?

One of best product out there for the moment. Flew them in C JFK-BRU and JFK-BRU in Y, and was really pleased.
SN/DL/9W have the best hard product on the route. Avoid UA and AA, (only flown UA in C, but it is HORRIBLE).
There is a senator lounge in JFK T1, so star gold should work.
If you can upgrade with miles, SN's C product is really good too.
Only disadvantage is that you come into BRU really early, and leave NY really early (vs eg DL, which flies 2hrs later)

I heard their service was superior to the others on the route, and so far route has been doing very well. Heck, they were able to push AA and 9W off the route fairly quickly! (AA may have been due to the bankruptcy, though)

Not (yet) experienced by myself, but I've heard they have the best product for tatl flights out of BRU. A fellow member flew BRU-JFK a few days ago and said he enjoyed it very much...
not sure about AA as anyways their service is non-existant, but 9W always had a code-share with SN on all routes throughout Europe and the Americas so it made sense for them to give up the BRU-JFK route as they already serve Newark and Toronto.

There is a trip-report of FlyingFinn76 about a Trans-Atlantic of both AC and SN: search for that one, and you'll know if it's acceptable for you [wink]
