United Flight Houston - Paris - Houston

Good morning,
I was very surprise this morning to find out that United had stop the none stop service from Houston - Paris - Houston.
Do you have any idea why?

They were losing considerable money.... It was discussed a while back.

Well you don't have any CDG - San Francisco (at least none stop service)
Here are the destinations out of Paris with United:
Newark: 2 daily with a B757
Washington: 1 daily B767
Chicago: 1 daily B767

As you probably know AF still flies the route IAH-CDG. Now that CO (and now UA) are Star more feed goes via FRA. Big upgauges in that service with CDG cutbacks.

There was also a public row between the UA and theCity of Houston of the city granting Southwest Internaional flight ops at HOU. There was big debate on if that was the real reason UA cut CDG-IAH

United will begin nonstop service between SFO and CDG this April.

From their press release:



"The airline will also begin daily year-round service between San Francisco and Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris on April 11, 2013, subject to government approval. The Paris flights will operate with Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 214 seats – 30 in BusinessFirst, 49 in Economy Plus and 135 in economy."
