Any idea why UA 902 IAD-MUC diverted to BOS a couple of hours ago? I was on IAD ATC earlier when it took off but goofing around in Flight radar I show it just left BOS for MUC. Flight Guru shows status as 'In-Air Recovered', whatever that means.

A quick divert with a quick departure usually means a medical/passenger issue diversion.

Sonoma is correct, it was a medical diversion.

Haha. I read 902 and sadly assumed ship 902 as in another 787 lol.

Flight attendant injured in flight. BOS must still have an FA base.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing! It's a bonus if you can fly the plane again!!

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, it was quite past BOS on it's way to MUC before it made the turn back. So any fuel dump needed on such a flight?

Quoting wingnutmn (Reply 4):

International flights are staffed above th minimums so no additional cabin crew are needed if one gets sick on a trip. They had already done the meal service so the crew member would not have been needed and they could deadhead someone from FRA base to cover the return leg.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!
