Has anyone found any good apps that are related to aviation? There are some great airline apps, and I'm sure there's great spotting ones as well, anyone have any favorites?

I like the Flightaware app. My office is under the approach to MHR, so when I'm walking to my car in the evening and a plane flies over my head and I want to know what flight it was I can fire up that app, look up what's en route to MHR and expected to arrive in the next few minutes or so and find out exactly what flight it was that just passed over my head.

Flightradar24 Pro!

It gives you the registration of most airplanes in the area.

Fantastic!

Planefinder is also a great app for flight tracking (there's a free and a full version).

I like fafefinder apps like Skyscanner, Kayak or Ita Software...

CheckMyTrip has an useful mobile app, Wipolo is also great (not sure if it is available in other language than french ?).

The United Airlines app - best airline app in my opinion. Especially for non-reving. Flightaware and Live ATC in tandem for spotting. Flighttracker for meeting people at the airport - It has the best alerts for flight status.

So after reading this post I went to the Flightradar24 site and looked around the Houston area and am less than impressed. First thing I find is UAL219 from SAT to IAH yet the flight is heading westbound east of SAT with the aircraft type B772.

http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ua219

The actual flight is from IAH to HNL so I'm not sure how reliable this site would be, looks like about the same kind of inaccuracies as flightaware.

Flight Aware is pretty good.
If you like flight sim apps, try Infinite Flight. It is Great!

The United Airlines app -

I love the United App. I love the look, practicality and loads of information that you could get besides the norm like

- Aircraft #
- Where the A/C is coming from (Same feature as their website)
- Seat map for your flight
- Stand by and upgrade list
- Flight Status showing the actual location of the A/C, etc

AeroWeather.

It will give you full aviation weather for the closest 20 fields, and allow you to build a favorites list.
It especially comes in handy in the winter during deicing season.

I highly recommend it.
