hi all
recently travelled BLR-BKK and back on the TG 777 and was amazed that the seating in J was 2-2-2
they were very comfortable seats and very very spacious cabin with one of the widest aisles you would ever see nowadays
its such a pity they dont operate them regularly to BOM though they have started operating the grubby old 747 and will change to the 744 with ptvs soon..
my question being, which other airlines if any operate the 777 in a 2-2-2 config?

Most of the major 777 operators seem to favour more interesting layouts (lots of herringbone/staggered configs out there), so the only one I can think of is QR.
There's also CA and exCO UA 777s with a semi-staggered/angled 2-2-2 product, but those seats/aisles will be nowhere are wide as full forward facing 2-2-2 one.

That's a very common layout. DL had 2-2-2 until recently. Now it's 1-2-1. But I would say that is probably the most common layout. What were u expecting? 2-3-2 or 1-2-1?
I thought UA 777 was 2-3-2..

Very few airlines have 2-2-2. Qatar, Eva (old seats) and Thai are the only ones I can think of with full forward facing 2-2-2.
United, Aeroflot, and Air China have angled 2-2-2 seats (all use the same seat) but those aren't full forward facing.
Of the airlines that still have full forward facing, most are 2-3-2 on the 777.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

not the same thing as you rightly said the overall aisle width and sense of space cant be the same!!

The standard 777 configuration is 2-3-2.
The old UA configuration is a tight 2-4-2, but they are using CO's angled 2-2-2 moving forward.

As are SQ's 777-200ER (ones that remain type-rated as ER and operate longhaul). Use the old spacebed seat that the 747's featured. However, they are going to be refitted with SQ's 1-2-1 configuration eventually.
