ANA New Configuration On Board Its Boeing 737-700

Was curious the point of a configuration like described below:

Star Alliance member ANA is launching new configuration on board its Boeing 737-700ER aircraft. 1 of 2 Boeing 737-700ER aircraft will be re-configured into 24 Business Class and 10 Economy Class Seating, entering Tokyo Narita – Yangon operation from 30JAN13. The airline opened Economy Class reservation for Yangon service on 20DEC12.

NH had two 737-700ERs, each with it's own unique configuration. One had 38 Business Class seats and the other had 24 Business Class and 20 Premium Economy Class seats.

So I am guessing the all-Business bird is the one being reconfigured to more closely resemble the two-class bird.

Well they did not change the all business class configuration... they just decide to use the last two and half row of seats as a separate economy class cabin for the Yangon flights. I presume the RGN market can yet to support a 767 operation.

You are basically sitting in a Club ANA cradle seat but receiving economy class service.

I suspect it is for some customers that are willing to pay top dollar to fly to RGN, but for corporate or government regulations cannot fly anything but economy. It may sound stupid, but even if the fare is almost the same as business class, some companies force people to fly in economy.



If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!
