FRA-LAX-FRA 748?

Hi,

I am thinking of booking a flight from LAX to FRA in about 10 days and from what I can see the 748 is supposed to be used on this run.
According to flightaware though there seems to have been some 744's operate recently, namesly D-ABVY on the LH457 on 17th AND 18th, yet these did not operate the LH457.
Is anybody out there able to confirm that the 748 is likely to be used, unless tech of course?

I think you have done the maths already on your own by looking up the history.
Furthermore, on LH's online time table it continues to be a B748 scheduled for the said flights until summer time table.

The 748 is scheduled on the 748 and i haven't heard any change in that.

I flew that route myself last week and both flights were pretty full.

The change to the 744 was due to the weather in FRA and its delays and late arrival of the airplanes.

Both. Due to the weather in FRA the airplane had to be de-iced and during de-icing a problem showed up due to the de-icing. So both.

That data should give you the answer? If a 748 flew into LAX on 18th, how can a 744 fly back? Flightaware glitch?
Also why are there 2 LH457s on the 18th and no LH456 on 17th?

The data above does not add up. If a 744 did fly into LAX as a sub, it should fly back to FRA the same day from LAX. Data does not show that.
