Voters have selected St Maarten SXM as the world's most scenic airport landing in this year's Airport Approaches poll. See the full top 10 at http://www.privatefly.com/airport-po...PrivateFlyAirportPollResults.html. Do you agree?

I have never landed there but from a spotters point of view spending a day there at the beach I tend to agree from that point of view.

I live here (SXM).

I love to see the pictures some of the spotters took.
I'm new to this Plane Spotting Phenomenon and I guess I'm living and working in the right place for it.

I would love to go to the other places and see and spot some planes one of these years...

I would also agree it's a great place to come and spot, you got one of Travel Channel top beach bar on one side (Sunset Beach Bar & Grill), you have another bar on the other side, there's also Karakter (Bar/Restaurant) Places to rest your head and watch planes (Kinda pricey in that area) and you got the beach (Make sure to come when the sand is there, yes it comes and it goes).

Enjoy Plane Spotting.

Never knew that so the beach dissapears? Is there a set season or is it random?

So lucky to live there !

Is there enough to do at SXM do occupy a few day for vacation? We like good beaches, good restaurants/bars in the evening.

It's a random thing.
You never know when the sea is going to take it away. LOL

It's cool to see some times. Today there's the Beach few days, weeks or months later there's no beach and it's back again.

On this little island, there are Beaches, Bars/Restaurant and many more to keep you busy for a few days.

(Be warned of the 4:00pm-6:00pm Simpsonbay/Cole Bay traffic)

Hope you enjoy whenever you come.

Why not?
I have had one of my best beach food at St.Marteen, ceviche, great sushi, great bottle of Rosato and an awesome cup of cappuchino right at the beach.
None of that burgers, fries, beer routine we are all used to.
Warning; it can get pricey, in euros.

There is plenty to do after spending the day at the wonderful beaches (Cupecoy was a favorite). Don't forget you have French and Dutch sharing the island so the food is outstanding not to mention the fresh seafood we had at an outdoor place in Marigot. It's a magical spot and a place I cannot return to soon enough.

I visited St. Maarten and Maho Beach back in November while on a cruise stop over. My fiance and I loved the island so much we booked our honeymoon trip to St.Maarten when we returned from the cruise. We are looking forward to exploring both sides (and Maho) for 7 days.

Look forward to see the pictures that you would post on A.net for those 7 days...
