Hello,
I have a question regarding DL.
I purchased a BTV-JAX ticket for this summer. The routing is BTV-LGA-JAX. DL just made a change to the BTV-LGA leg and this now leaves me with a 9 minute connection time in LGA. On their web site, DL recommends me to call to fix that. But I am curious, why didn't they fix the entire trip with something reasonable and then I would only need to call if I am not OK with the new flights? Is it because they maybe expect the other flight LGA-JAX to change as well and the problem would be fixed by itself?

The schedule change load is automated and your booking has been filed by date of travel into a "queue" for human handling at a later date.....considering you are not traveling until summer. Call them now to be rebooked to what is a more current schedule AS OF THIS DATE, realizing these schedules may and likely will change again over the next few months. The final schedule is generally not "locked in" until about 45 days or so in advance.
DL is great to work with concerning schedule changes and handle the re-booking process to new flights without a hassle. I think they do the reaccomodation process the best of most airlines so get on the phone, get re-booked, select seats and then keep an eye out for schedule changes as they are generally done on Saturday/Sunday nights and the reaccomodation process is usually reflected on your booking by Monday.

I agree that DL is very helpful and easy to deal with when rebooking. They usually offer the option to rebook online in these situations, but the phone agents give you more flexibility sometimes. I suggest that you do some checking on the website and figure out your preferred alternate itinerary before calling in. Tell them that you already know the flight numbers you want, and they will usually be happy to put you on those flights without having to go through the whole schedule with you on the phone.
