Is Global Entry ID Card A Valid A Government ID?

Can I use it in place of a passport or driver's license for us domestic chek in/ TSA?

Yes but some places don't realized that. I was out with a friend for lunch and he couldn't order a beer at a pub because they wouldn't accept his NEXUS card as an ID. Otherwise of course at any airport it should be accepted for ID for check in, etc...

Rule #1, always drink with your drivers license in hand!   

I can't imagine going around on a daily basis without my drivers license, that is soooooo much easier to replace if lost than a passport or Global Entry/NEXUS type ID.
