I've got a trip coming up from Denver to Vienna. The first leg is on UA and the second is on OS. I bought the ticket on the United web site and the second leg is booked with a UA flight number. Will I be able to check-in on line on the United web site?
The reason I'm asking is that the UA web site can't show me the seat map for the IAD-VIE leg, which leads me to wonder if it will be able to handle check-in.

I don't think it would be a problem for the online check-in as long as you're booked on a single ticket. Do you see an OS confirmation number on your travel details on United.com ? If so, you should be able to change your seat on austrian.com using this PNR (not 100% sure but it worked for me with LH/UA codeshare flight).
Have a nice trip
