Hi, I'm flying on July from Mexico City to Amsterdam. I want to try something different, an airline in which I have never flown before. "exotic"
Airlines flown from Mex to Europe : Air France, Iberia, Aeromexico.
I don't care about connections, and I'm flying tourist class so I'm searching for an airline with PTVs in all classes. Any ideas? recommendations?
Thanks! cheers...

Hi,

by "something exotic" do you mean "just an airline I didn't flew before as long as it's a good one", or "come one, give me something really exotic and I don'T care do get stranded in Venezuela"?

First Category:

You may try AA and fly through DFW. I heard that in DFW you do not need to collect your checked bags like in other US airports, as they will be sent through to your final destination if connecting internationally. Also, AA gives you the option to fly to a lot of Mexican cities, if another destination is more suitable for you than MEX (or make open jaws, i.e. oubound to MEX, back from GDL).

Otherwise stick with the Atlantic Joint Venture of LH/UA/AC/SN/LX/OS. You may i.e. fly via Canada, or why not sample OS or SN and connect then with AC/UA in North America. Will involve an additional change though, so AC would be a better choice (you may also fly UA, but then you will need to collect your bags at your point of entry in the US),

These are the airlines that pricewise seem most interesting.

You may also considering flying from FRA/DUS/AMS with DL or the above mentioned airlines, which may be cheaper.

Second Category:
Air Europa via MAD
Condor from FRA (or via FRA with LH) to PTY, then Copa to MEX.
Fly to MAD with an Airline of your choice, then use Cubana MAD-HAV-MEX.
Fly to MAD/BCN then with Avianca to BOG and then with Avianca group to MEX, which can even involve additional stops in SJO/SAL/MDE/CLO/GUA...

What about BA? they have a good product

Maybe even try Air Canada? Or KLM, i think they fly direct to MEX from AMS, why not go for that

Do you REALLY believe AV is as "exotic" as Cubana? You do know AV is star alliance's south american flaship, dont you?

AV via BOG would be a good choice, PTV in every seat, good service, the only thing would be a long (6+h) layover in BOG, but if you can enter a lounge, no worries.

falkeker, Just wanted to say it's not the most obvious carrier to fly from AMS to MEX.... CU is for sure more exotic   I know Avianca is a good choice...

KLM's daily 747-400M combi nonstop MEX-AMS is by far the most convenient route, and less risk of delays and baggage going astray on a nonstop than on a connecting routing. PTVs at all seats. And you don't have many opportunties to fly on a 747-400 combi these days.

Thank you all for your suggestions, it sounds that the best options are LH, KLM or BA in terms of Price, times and "Never flown before airline". It would be amazing to try MEX-MIA-FRA-AMS just for the LH A380, but to many stops. Also by saying Exotic airline, I meant to say, "Never flown before airline, or unconventional for me", not "It may crash airline" haha Im saying this for cubana! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONLTvk6RuqE Cheers!

With LH you will find no fare via MIA. If you want to fly LH, you will need to book UA or AC as feeder and thus fly via i.e. IAH/IAD/ORD/EWR/YYZ... But you can try to get a 747-800 at least...
