TPA must be up there with the most attractive of US airports.
Generally staff are helpful too and often the sun is shining, what more could you ask for except more flights to Europe?

I like PDX, personally. SEA as well.

DFW, at least, really depends on the terminal. D is lovely; C or A, for example, are depressing as hell both inside and out.

I get a few concourses are bad at MIA but the North and South Terminals are ugly in your opinion?

DTW DL terminal is fantastic. Also love DCA. Main terminal is great and can't beat that location.

Ugliest: LGA even though it has a good location and BOS. Was very unimpressed with the Internatioanl terminal when I flew there a few years ago.

I consideer the IAD terminal one of the most attractive terminals in the world, designed by famous Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen.

Top of my list: DTW, TPA, DEN, SFO, and a really nice small airport - BTV.

I agree! T2/T3 is a big pile of dump.

I haven't been in a lot of US airports, but I found BWI and RDU (the new terminal) pretty nice and easy to navigate through. TPA and MCO not bad either... Pretty bad was Deltas international arrival concourse at JFK.

Best: RDU or DFW-D

Worse: EWR-A

Have to agree, the staff are friendly, even found a smiling Boarder agency staff who wished me a nice day.

MCO, quite nice, love that enormous control tower.

AMS, great to use not much to look at.

MIA, nothing nice to say about it.

My favorites:

IAD (hard to beat the classic architecture of Saarinen)
DTW (the McNamara terminal and its wonderful views)
MSN (it has lots of neat architectural details, like the small stained glass windows in the "Prairie Style")
PWM (for a small city, what a neat terminal--and very appropriate for its location, too)

My least favorites:

GEG (although I haven't been there in a few years and heard it's had some sort of renovation; hopefully it's less claustrophobic and threadbare now)
BWI

Beautiful:
big airports: IAD, MSP, DTW,
Small airports- seriously guys, you gotta fly to these sometime!
SAV, HHH, Tallahassee, and CHS are really pretty airports.

Ugliest:
Admittedly, PHX is quite ugly...the Terminal 3 needs upgrades. Also ugly: ORD, LGA, and IND....

JAX, SAV, CLT are quite nice, certainly distinct. For its size and traffic, MSP and ATL do fine jobs with a pretty good look added for our pleasure.

FRA is painful during its renovation. Used to be one of my favorites. Not now, waiting optimistically . . . .

Worst I've been in (recently): JFK, international and domestic

DTW hands-down for me, and 've always liked SNA. LAX is pretty damn ugly if you ask me, it rivals LGA! Also CDG T1, there should be a law against ugly terminals at world-class airports...

My top 3:
1. DTW: McNamara Terminal and North Terminal. Need I say more?
2. IAH Terminal E: I like the big windows and high ceilings
3. SNA: Again high ceilings, but below IAH because I'm not a huge fan of the overall color scheme.

Worst 3: (absolute worst is first)
1. LGA: The PANYNJ bus terminal is on par with this airport...
2. LAX: Still in the 60's
3. CDG T1: Not the ugliest terminal in the world, but totally unfitting for an airport of CDG and a beautiful city like Paris.

For small airports, I love the outdoors theme at TVC.

A landing EVERYONE can walk away from, is a good landing.

DEN, DTW, MCO are all very nice.

LAX is trapped in the 60s. ORD just seems trapped. FLL Terminal 2 may as well be a bus station.

I was pleasantly surprised by OAK a few weeks ago.

I think parts of HON look great; other parts have not aged well in the tropical breezes.

MDW is a vast improvement over the dump that used to be there.

If you are referring to Honolulu, I think you mean HNL. The airport code HON applies to Huron, South Dakota which may be a very lovely destination but probably is lacking in tropical breezes (at least most times of the year).
