I just received an email from jetBlue announcing a change to their TrueBlue loyalty program. Following Delta's Skymiles example, TrueBlue points no longer expire. There is no longer an activity requirement.

I'm sure many of their frequent fliers will hate this change. Why does jetBlue change their program to favor their least frequent fliers at the cost of their regulars?

Is this a new trend now? I remember in the 90s / early 2000s there were several loyalty programs without mileage expiry. Continental comes to mind. Then the European airlines put a shelf life on each individual mile, while airlines from America generally required account activity to extend the whole account's expiry date.
Now Delta and jetBlue (which others am I missing?) are getting rid of mileage expiry altogether. This can NOT be good.

All the things you probably hate about travelling are warm reminders that I'm home
