I've never been an Airbus fan but this is a stunningly good looking Aircraft and I do appreciate aesthetics !

Imho it is far better looking than the ground hugging, rather strange looking 787.

My thoughts too. Generally Airbus haven't had the best looks, often do to clumsy looking fairings and wing tips and gear doors and the bulbous nose of the A320 and A380 but the A345 came together like few other aircraft.

What's wrong with the nose? What needs to change about it? Which aircraft has the best nose?

I l.ike the nose,.

Interesting ho far out the engines are from the fuselage.

Much wider spaced than the 787.

This will be very quiet inside.

I've always thought the A320 had best looks for an Airbus, still do!!! The A350's kind of getting there but not quite...

Can you elaborate on how the 787 looks strange?? It has a fuselage, 2 wings, 2 engines, a nose gear, 2 main bogies, a horizontal stabilizer and a rudder. Yes, very strange ...

That's sort of where I'm at too.

The A350-900 can't beat the A340-500 in looks...

Sure blows it away in performance terms though - virtually the same size, but a whole 100 tonnes lighter (268t v 368t), yet giving up only about 500Nm in range. Staggering really

It's, in my opinion, the WORST looking plane they've ever put out...the tail section looks like they just gave up and slapped something together at the last minute...it's not even in proportion to the rest of the fuselage. And the nose? They might as well just have chopped off the front end of the 787 and put it there...

IMO, the A350 looks far better painted than unpainted and I'd put it in third place behind the A340-500 and A340-300.

I do think the 787 looks better than the A350.

Whilst I personally agree the 787 isn't "strange" looking, I'm not sure this was the best argument.

If I described a plane as "It has a fuselage, 2 wings, 4 engines, a nose gear, 2 main bogies, a horizontal stabilizer and a rudder", am I describing a) the A340-500 b) the 747-8 c) the A380 ?

you don't like the 787 front end then?

It will also make for some tough single engine performance.

That being said, it has my vote for best looking Airbus

I think the nose looks way better than A300/330/340, that front is all *ss. When coming to looks, I´d say the A350 can join my list with 757, Comet/Caravelle/787. A380 and A320 just look fugly in the front. As do 767, 777 and the 737.

I think the 787-1000 will be the best looker in the air in the future. The A350 will be the best looking Airbus for sure, ever.

The nose might look strange from some angles, but if you open the large version of this photo for example...
that's one lovely looking aircraft!

The A350 nose does look a little blunt. Its hard to imagine that nose being aerodynamic, the same goes for the A380 nose.

My favourite Airbus of all time is the A300B4. I like its size and simplicity, inside and out.

Shame Airbus don't get a bit of Italian styling into their airframes.

Change that to 4 engines and you have an Airbus A380, yet most people call that thing "strange" or "ugly"

I agree, its a lovely looking at that angle and im glad someone got it at that angle. Pity it doesn't have the wing flex like the 787. But the winglets make it look just as good!

+1 had so many nice flights on OA's A300-B4s over the years they were wonderful. If I could choose to bring back any aircraft it would be that one.

The A350 is lovely in design and I cant wait to fly it. Just have not had the same enthusiasm about the B787 and not in a rush to get on one. Dont get me wrong its an impressive aircraft inside and out but can wait to fly on it. Id rather bag another B777 flight.

Indeed. Though I somehow like the length of the -600.
What I like about the -300 are the small engines. Yes, I may be the only one... Point is, that they look a bit old fashioned compared to all those huge drums aka GE90, Trent1000, etc.

The devil is in the detail - as often in life.
My opinion: The 789 and esp. 78J will be looking great!

At the very moment the 350 is in the air and the gear's retracted, the nose looks fantastic! Sleek, a bit in "attack-mode".

I like the A350, unique looker, obviously not appealing to everyone.

Would be interesting to visually see everyones own idea of what the modern airliners should look like.

I am very happy with both airbus and boeings result, as I could not make them look any better.

The B-787-8 Dreamliner is waaaay more beautiful by far!

Flex wings... so sexy!!

Curved wing tips? mehh...

It's all a matter of personal taste.

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

I don't find the A350 particularly attractive, much preferring the nose of the A330/40 (and A300 before then), with the A345 being the perfect length. The long straight fuselage of the A350looks a bit 767/777ish to me.

The 787 is nicer looking than the A350, it just seems sleeker to me, and has sexier wings!

Her weird, awkward nose disqualifies her from earning the title of "Best looking Airbus".

In my opinion the best looking Airbuses ever are the A330/340, perfectly proportioned and that gorgeous A300-style nose section is the best thing Airbus has ever designed, not only it's aesthetically superior but it looks so aerodynamic too. I was disappointed that Airbus did away with it, it defined Airbus widebodies since the roll out of the first A300, the very first Airbus.

25 Post contains images planewasted : Am I the only one that think the A400 is the best looking Airbus?
26 Post contains images mesaflyguy : The a321 is, and always will be, the best looking Airbus ever!
27 ardian : I completely disagree: the A350's nose looks weird/clunky and the tail section is strange (the part where it's getting smaller). Somehow it looks out
28 PGNCS : Explain, please. If the vertical stabilizer and rudder are properly sized why would engine out performance (or more to the point, handling) be poor?
29 L0VE2FLY : Yeah, I think you're the only one, a military plane is not what comes to mind when most folks hear the name "Airbus".
30 lugie : I think the 350 is a very good looking aircraft. I don't understand what people dislike about the nose... However, I still find the A340-600 a little
