Hey everyone, or anyone...... I am looking at booking flights from Sydney to London using Thai or Singapore/Lufthansa as my flights. Does anyone know if all of Thais A340-600s have been modified with AVOD? Or even if they are still flying them. Am travelling this December and Thais booking web sight have them listed as the aircraft being flown. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

All TG A346s are fitted with AVOD head-to-toe are currently in service HOWEVER the airline is notorious for aircraft swaps which can be annoying as some of their international fleet have no IFE in economy. The aircrafts to watch out for are the A330-300s, B747 All Series and some 777-200s. I believe TG has or is in the process of providing economy passengers on the old A330-300s with content loaded tablets.

I have had my aircraft swapped more often than not (except on the (now ceased) LAX non-stop services with the A345).

If you are Star Alliance Gold and flying economy, BKK would be a better transit option as you have shower access which is not the case in SIN where you will have access to the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

If I were you I'd fly SQ all the way if possible as I am not fond of LH however this shouldn't be an issue as the SIN-FRA is a red-eye service and I would pick this option if I wasn't too fussed about taking a shower during transit

That's Mr. Bovine Joni to you.

One A346 route is BKK-ZRH.

...to Milan/Malpensa! The A346 is an outstanding a/c. From my own experience with TG's A346 an absolutely must! But again, no guarantee for a/c changes!

Hello

Aircraft swaps are unlikely on the European sectors, as they need the relevant cockpit crew in place to do the return leg.

ZRH is quite reliably an A340-600, I see it every day departing.
Just the other day one a/c was AOG for a couple of days and an engine was removed.

Loran
