I flew on Turkish A310 from Geneva to Istanbul and back some years ago. Both flights were fully booked. Service was nice, flights on time. The plane looked old but was comfortable.
TK : nothing to comlpain about.

May I join in also, being half-Turkish?
I fly Turkish Airlines a lot, most flights until now being Amsterdam-Istanbul. I flew on the DC-9, 737-400, 737-800, A310-200, A310-300 and A340-300 (the last one on Istanbul-Bangkok). I think they offer a great service and are getting better every time, and the recent order for new Airbuses and Boeings is a major landmark in the airline´s expansion plans. Way to go, TK!

Having lived in Istanbul from 1996-1998 and visiting Turkey every year since I left I have flown on TK a fair amount.
I would say that they are consistent and professional with a very good magazine (skyline i think...can't remember).
Have flown GVA-IST, LHR-IST, IST-ADM, ATH-IST and so on. A310s and 737-400s.
I can say one thing for certain, on the IST-ATH-IST portion THY is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Olympic Hava Yollari!
It is definitely nice to catch an A310 from Izmir to Istanbul, as I did on a couple of occasions.
At that time it was esp. nice because the other airlines didn't seem very appealing. Top Air 727s, Istanbul Airlines, Onur Air and other charters.
When traveling from IST to LHR once in 1999 on BA, the 320 that was supposed to take to me to London had to make an emergency landing in Budapest on the way to Istanbul from London.
I was flying in business and the BA chick told me that she could put me on TK's evening flight to London in C or else take BA the next day.
I ended up going on BA the next day because I wanted to spend one more day in Istanbul since I wasn't going to be there for another year but looking back I should have tried TK's Business Class on that opportunity!
Anyway my choice when I go to Turkey is definitely THY. I haven't been on them transatlantic but from Europe I much prefer to fly on Turk Hava Yollari than any of the European airlines because flying on THY is like arriving in Istanbul when you step on the plane instead of when you step in the airport.
