I noted that AC834 YUL-GVA June 30 and the return flight AC835 GVA-YUL today were cancelled (A333). The Toronto-Montreal-Toronto sectors of both flights appear to have operated. Just curious whether anyone knows the reason for the cancellations.

Must be difficult to find enough space to reroute that many passengers at the height of the peak season when most flights are full or close to it.

Don't know the reason but suspect a technical problem. Just checked GVA airport and there are two flights tomorrow AC2134 due to arrive at 6:35am and the regular. Strangely AC2135 is planned to depart after AC835, at 18:30 local time. Something quite similar happened a couple of weeks ago.

Since they operate another flight in place of the original one, I'm not sure how they deal with stranded passengers.

Thanks. I guess they just put up the passengers in hotels for the night (at least the ones who couldn't just go home for the night) and accommodated them on the extra flights the next day.

Such situation happened several times last summer with the flight departing once GVA shortly before midnight. I remember that I even questioned the reliability of their 767s back then.

There it goes again. AC834 has been cancelled from YUL (July 5) after operating normally from YYZ, and replaced by AC2034 about twelve hours later.

Hmmm... BRU has been operated by A330s and no major problems on this route yet..

Next trip report: Well worn A330s and Hassle free MUC transfer
