UA026/027 757-200 Which Version?

The title says it all. I will be travelling on the UA026 BHX-EWR shortly and am trying to confirm which version would be used for the flight. Seatguru shows 3 versions (1 x domestic and 2 x International). I am just trying to find out which International version is most likely to be used.

Any members out there willing to give any information out at all? And before anyone asks yes I appreciate that there can be a change in aircraft but I am trying to find out which version is more commonly used on this route.

Thanks in advance for any information offered.

United has 3 versions of 757. Domestic with 24 first class seats with 36 inch pitch that flies most routes entirely within the domestic 50 states except for a few usually out of EWR. International with 16 BusinessFirst seats with lie flat seats that flies all transatlantic flights and occasionally domestic routes to EWR/ORD/IAH. Premium Service with 28 lie flat seats that flies exclusively from New York to LAX/SFO.

You will be on the international configuration with 16 business class seats. All have economy plus. All seats have on demand TVs, but not satellite TV. Not a bad plane.

The international version is also sent to Orlando, Florida (MCO) for whatever reason. I've been trying to catch it upfront in BusinessFirst for the longest time.

There's a fairly easy way to tell the domestic 757 from the international variant: the domestic version doesn't have winglets.

Almost, but two exceptions. N544UA and N549UA are domestic with winglets.

All UA TATL 757 operations are flown by the pmCO 757-200s, which have the AVOD at each seat, and features 16 BizFirst lie flat seats.

Another way to tell, at least for the near future, flight numbers 1-199 and 1000-1799 are flown by pmCO metal, while 200-999 are flown by pmUA aircraft.

I think maintenance is done in MCO.

True, but UA flies the domestic 753 (24F/189Y) fairly regularly IAH-PTY around 3:15pm. I saw one this afternoon. (The morning flight ~8:45am is a 737.)

IAH-BOG, departing around the same time in the afternoon as PTY, usually is an int'l 752 (16J/153Y). UA has been known to send int'l 752s to other LatAm destinations variously throughout the year, and I frequently see them in the evening going to LAX or SFO.

In the future, I would not be surprised to see some p.s. 752s, with their 28J/114Y in a premium-heavy int'l configuration, and meant only for JFK-SFO/LAX transcons, used for int'l routes occasionally as a sub or if demand merits it. Not sure if they are all ETOPS, that may have been part of the recent p.s. mod.

Absolutely true...

To the OP dc10bhx, it's a pleasant ride across the pond in either cabin!

Thanks for the replies, and yes it is an enjoyable trip (whichever cabin you manage to get).

It is a journey I have done a couple of times (with CO) but the first time I will have experienced the UA product.

It will also be the first long haul flight my daughters have taken (the last time my wife and I flew this route was the year before they came along) so it will be interesting to see how they take to the flight. Thankfully they are old enough not to be "seat-kickers" and they also know their manners (and the consequences if they do not use them).

Well it is count down time (12 days to go). Trip report will follow (eventually).

Some of the new p.s planes are ETOPS equipped, since they retired some of the old p.s planes. These new ones previously flew to HI.
