The only thing I could think of that would be relatively cheap on short notice is Independence Air from EWR or JFK to IAD. CO may have matched IAir's fares from EWR to IAD, although it's a tossup. I would check the two out to see their prices.

I just used FlyI's website and got $176 r/t for 11/12 to 11/14 from JFK and EWR to Dulles.. Not sure if you have to have ISP or not. If you do, Southwest can do it for about $180 from ISP to BWI.

Since you know when you need to go. You know what airports work best for you. Pick an airline, go to their website and see what you can find. Its easy enough to book online on any of their websites. Your best bet is going to be FlyI, United, US Airways and Southwest I think.

I hope this helps...good luck.

Indy looks like the cheapest into IAD at around $110 or so depending on the dates

I dont have time to look up prices now but the last time i booked to DC flying was cheaper than the train. Take the cab fare into account, a cab from IAD to downtown dc is much more expenive than a cab from DCA so if the prices are close then go with DCA.

No non-US airline can fly domestic routes (Saudia can't fly JFK-IAD, BA can't fly IAH-ORD, etc.)

Southwest ISP-BWI would probably be the best bet, and just taking Amtrak from BWI to Washington/Union Station.

Don't take Amtrak unless you have to (late at night). The MARC train runs the rest of the time, and is $6 instead of $25.

If you are on an EXTREMELY TIGHT budget, there are the 'chinatown buses' that run this route for as low as $25 ow and $40 rt. I've been on them...they do exist.

Fung Wah probably the cheapest in that sense. They ahve a webpage, isn't it like $9.50 o/w?
Don't forget with Indy, sign up for their FFP and get $25 off your first RT.
