Hello everyone,
I'm planning a trip to China this summer and Lufthansa offered me a nice fare. On the inbound leg however, I have the option to take either SAS or Austrian to Beijing. Actually, I'd love to try them out both, but of course I can only choose one. What do you recommend (in terms of IFE, food, service etc), SAS or Austrian?
Thanks

I haven't flown on any of the 2 airlines but to me they are both very good carriers from what i hear i hope someone else can help you with the choice .
I just wanted to give you my opinion .
On the other hand can you take one way one 1 and a return on the other ?

get more info about the OS flight from the aua.com website. i had a flight to JFK in October and got all information about IFE from the website. dont know if that can be done also at the SAS website, but have a check!

SK has quite a good Transfer times, with OS you have a 8 hour layover in VIE
Both airlines are good. If you like a layover in VIE choose OS, Otherwise SK

The www.scandinavian.net (TravelInfo) is informative about the SAS onboard service. On the Austrian site I understand not all of their Airbuses have the IFE in each seat, only one of the A340s is equipped.
If I should choose, the 8 hrs layover is not an alternative. You cant
combine the airliners, out SK and back on OS? Star Alliance fare?

Thanks for the feedback guys! My planned iternary is AMS-PEK, then via land to HKG and HKG-AMS back. For the HKG-AMS flights I'll take LH but I have choice between SK and OS (and of course LH) to PEK.
I think I'll go for SAS, as it would be my first A343 ride and their service looks really promising!

I'm a United Mileage Plus member so my preference would be a Star Alliance member. Also, KLM is much more expensive and to be honest I'm not really too fond of their economy product... Thanks for the tip anyway!

The take SAS, I think Austrian is not as good as SAS, also Copenhagen Airport (if its there where you are transfering) is very friendly and transfers are very smooth. SAS´s in-flight service is well know as one of the best. Also, the blonde scandinavian girls serving you....
Well, have a nice flight and stay in PEK.
