I need to book a flight for my boss for LAX-ASE on 12/26-1/1. Awful days as I realize but does anyone have any leads on where I can find a flight for less than $1100? thanks

Heh. I doubt one exists. Even if you connect at DEN, the fares will be high.

Try HP via PHX.

Unfortunately, flights to ASE are expensive, regardless of where you are flying from.

Flights aren't the only expensive thing in aspen. You need to have lots of money just to stay an extended period of time, even if you are driving.

If he goes on Christmas day the price drops in half... otherwise you are looking at $1100. I dont know how much of an option ground transportation is... but if you went LAX-PHX-GJT the price is $491 on those days. Or $293 LAX-PHX-DEN. This is on HP.

There is ground transportation from DEN to ASE. I know of atleast one company that does it. Expensive though. Look them up to find out how much they are. Colorado Mountain Express is the name of the shuttle company.

Two rules in aviation, don't hit anything and don't run out of gas, cause if you run out of gas yer gonna hit something.

I work for Air Wisconsin.... we usually have nonstop seasonal flights between LAX and ASE in our 146s. I don't know when it starts though. Sorry if that is not a lot of help.

What do I know? I just fly 'em.......

DEN to ASE is a fairly long drive (4 hours or more, probably more in late Dec early Jan)

If he's price conscious also try a drive from COS. Its also about 4 hours.

There is no way you will get into ASE for anything less than $1100 on those dates. Its over the holiday period, which is about as busy as it gets. Plus it is always a high premium to fly into ASE.

You can get flights on those dates for about $600 by flying LAX-DEN-EGE, EGE-DEN-LAX. Flying into Vail/Eagle County is a very reasonable option for going to Aspen since the limited flight options into ASE. Its about a hour's drive or so from EGE to Aspen. There are some shuttles, like Colorado Mountain Express, and I'd say its definetely worth it, if he is concerned about saving $500. Plus, EGE is a much easier to use than the monstrousity of DEN.

The trip from DEN to Aspen is rather lengthy, you are talking about 4 hours +, and if there happens to be a snowstorm on that day, good luck.....
