I searched for this topic and couldn't find it. What is your top ugliest airport?

For me it would be DTW's Smith terminal. My god is it ugly.

The ugliest airport I have ever been to is OMA. The airport is dull and looks like you're in an asylum. The colors are grey and brown. The lighting is poor.
The airport has nothing modern and is extremely boring.

London Heathrow... with the exception of Terminal 4.

Quite well characterised by the comment about Heathrow I read here on a.net a short while ago: "A third world city in itself".

Atleast you have light into the terminal...you need to see pics of Smith to fully understand the uglyness.

Montgomery Regional MGM: "Terminal", if you could call it, was half boarded up and darkened, hot stuffy, and everyone looked sick. Cabin fever or clausterphobia.

My vote goes for ICT : Wichita, Kansas. Very long corridors, and very small windows to see the ramp.

I'd go for Moscow Scheremetyevo (since the third world has already been mentioned). It's a typical Russian communistic building, which looks more like a cube with some dirty windows than a real airport.

For sure it is the old Smith terminal at DTW.

However, in a few years it will be gone, and we will all be nostalgic!

CDG Terminal 1, it is just godawful, no facilities, horrific "artistic" concrete, terrible angled travelators and the famous French attitude.

Seconded. And the non-sensical arrangement of security, immigration and all sorts spread throughout the satellites.

I'll add the LYS temporary terminal, put up for the skiiers (well I hope it is). An
utterly useless and ugly tent.

Hey XJRamper.....Go into the Spirit Airlines bag room at DTW and suck up some of the asbestos falling from the ceiling in the Smith terminal. Ahhhh......good!  Nuts
