Has anyone here flown Korean Air recently or in the past? What is your opinion of them? I know they have had some issues with safety in the past. Any comments. Thanks.

I have flown Korean once..... and the least to say is that it was a great experience. I flew on the T7 and I don't see any safety issues there. as far as the service and food goes.... it is just great. You could pretty much compare it with Sq orr cathay. Also they were supposed to install ptv's in economy for long hauls. So I would say that you will have fun flying on KE.

enjoy  Smile

We flew Korean Air about a year ago. LHR-SEL-AKL. I found them extremely helpful. They doubled our luggage allowance as we were emigrating. This meant that we were allowed 80 kgs instead of 40kgs and yet we managed to rack up 113kgs. They were quite happy to allow this. After a couple of phone calls.

We will certainly fly with them again.

ZKJIM: Was that 113 kgs for one piece of luggage?

If so, my goodness have you ever heard of DHL?  Nuts  Nuts  Nuts  Nuts

I have flown on Korean Air about 10 times over the past 6 years.

In my opinion they offer a very good product (very good service, very friendly flight attendants).

If you have a problem they really try to work it out with willingness.

For safety. In the end of the 90s they had some big accidents, but after that safety has been getting much better again and nowadays I would say they belong to the safest airlines again.

On long hauls (I have flown several times betw. Europe and ICN) they offer 3 hot meals and can decide between two or 3 kinds of meal. And I would recommend the bulgogi as Korean Air offers best bulgogi in the sky (they already got award for that).

Hope it helped a little bit.

Regards

Frank (hunsrueck)

All I have to say is that they need a livery change.

I second that it could do with a change

I flew them a few years back from Sydney to Dallas. Awesome service!

The only downside is that their english skills are VERY limited.

Have fun

no experience on kal, but i was a bit "amused" when i checked their record: i think no other airline fucked up that many 747s. but as stated above, thats history!
