Hello fellow 747 fans! Time to salute our favorite aircraft once more by remembering our first 747 flights for each 747 type. If you can mention the name of the airline, the routing and the year or decade of your trip, will be appreciated.
Here is mine:
747-100 PA Pan Am Manila-Saigon 1975
747-200 JL Japan Air Lines Narita-HongKong Kaitak 1983
747SP UA United MNL-NRT 1988. This 747SP was being used as a feeder,
after the MNL-NRT segment, it flew NRT-SIN
747-400 NW Northwest DTW-KIX-MNL 1996
747-300 I am still hoping to catch IB JFK-MAD or Phuket Air, we'll see, I'll let you know by next year's reposting of this thread.

I've only flown on the 747-400 and surprisingly my very first time on any 747 was only this past May when I went to New Zealand. I flew on Air New Zealand from LAX to AKL and another one back from AKL to LAX. On the same trip on the return leg I flew on a UA 744 from LAX to ORD.
This trip was also my first 777 flight with a 777-200 from ORD to LAX.
Definitely a memorable trip getting to finally fly on some of my favorite A/C.

First 747 flight for me was LHR-FRA-LHR with Pan Am. Date was 24-07-1972 out and 25-07-1972 back. Aircraft were 747-121A N653PA and N770PA. I dont remember the flight numbers. We should have flown out on the 23rd but the aircraft was delayed in the states, so my friend and I spent a really boring night trying to kip in Terminal 3. Couldn't complain though. We were both working for BCAL and the stand-by fare was about £2 or so.

I've only ever flown on 747-400s:
Regular: British Airways, LHR to HKG (old), 1994. It was the day after the IRA mortar attacks on Heathrow.
Combi: KLM, HKG (new) to AMS, 2000. I can remember reading the safety card and noting it was a combi. It's quite possible the outward trip from Europe was also a combi, also.

UA 747-400 SFO-DEN during 9/04
It was a mild disappointment as the original equipment was a 777 and I purposely booked my SFO-IND trip through DEN just for the 777. The substituted the 747-400 at the least minute.
