New topic here -- how many of you on this forum are regular fliers? Either crew or passenger? To qualify as regular, I'd say at least 20 round trips a year are needed

Well, I'm a passenger only and not too much of a regular, but I fly a lot more than most people I know. Typically take 10 or so round trips per year, comprising of as many flights as possible. Airlines vary, such as FR, LH, CA, but most include sectors on either Air Southwest or Iberia. Hoping to take a few more this year.

Edit- forgot to add airlines.

What do you consider frequent flying? Once a week? More often? Less often? How about long trip, i.e., over 4 hours, vs shorter trips?

As far as I'm concerned, I fly at least twice a week, normally short trips, but several times a year fly overseas or to the US west coast. I try and fly either Northwest or KLM, but fairly often fly Delta, Continental, or a Mexican/Canadian airline. I do avoid US air and AA air at all costs

hmm, i never paid much attention to it, but i fly typically four to six segments each month. if domestic it is eclusively on AA, but if to LHR mostly on VS. i dont take many trips to asia...just too long of a trip, whereas a trip to london is the perfect weekend getaway.

Last year was 22 segments, probably a similar amount this year. I keep most of my flights on BA (18 segs last year) for status benefits although do sometimes switch to Star Alliance for perks.

Last year I flew 120+ segments on NW and it's partners.
So far this year 8 flights.
I fly mostly around the mid-west, with a few trips to DEN, DFW, & SAN for work, and BZO for vacation.

So far this year, 21 segments for me -- last year was about 180

I'm just trying to figure out how many people on here actually fly, and how many are just spotters, who'd give their left ..... to get on a plane.

I completed 10 international segments last year, but only 2 the year before that.
It varies, but I take SQ/Star Alliance longhaul, and whichever has the cheapest fare shorthaul.
I'm planning on repeating or bettering that figure this year.

2-3 times a year.

Used to fly mostly on USAirways but now being in Cleveland, Continental usually has the competitive price advantage. Otherwise, I'll fly Southwest.

Only recently have I been able to choose outside of those three airlines. I still have never flown on United (or Alaska or ATA, if considering the majors.)

Hey DTWClipper -- not a competition here, just informational. Only reason I'm curious is there are so many people on here who know so much, yet I suspect there are also many who are 'arm chair' flyers. Don't you feel the same way?

About 10-8 times a year. Not to bad. Well used to fly ATA to MDW once a year but now will have to fly WN to MDW or AA or ORD. Fly AA most of the time. JFK/LGA is my most popular destination. Also fly to Nassau Bahamas alot. Fly Chalks when I do that. International flights I will use AA and partners most of the time. Last flight was MIA-EZE-MIA! 777! For example 04-05 Chalks FLL-PID-FLL
AA MIA-LGA-MIA AA MIA-JFK-MIA AA MIA-EZE-MIA AA MIA-BOS-MIA AA or WN MIA/FLL-MDW/ORD. Than will fly UA or AA MIA-SFO-MIA.

Airliners.net - armchair flyers
Flyertalk.com - frequent flyers

I participate on both despite being a not very frequent flyer...(see above)

I flew 9 times in Jan, of which all were on FR 738 machines.

I must have flown 30+ last year, the majority of which were on FR 732 and 738 aircraft.

I think this is the only time for a year or two when I have had no flights booked.

AA777jr,

Were all of the almost 80 segments on AA as a D3? I would have to say that because every employee only gets 24 one ways (or 12r/t) it would be impossible to get 80 segments out of 24 one ways....

As for me I flew on 55 AA segments and 1 DL Shuttle last year....
