I am going to London in 2 weeks and usually just fly direct YUL-LHR with AC. I have always wanted to fly on Virgin Atlantic and was thinking that maybe this time I would fly down to New York and buy ZEDs on Virgin to London. Anybody have any tips or info on flying standby on Virgin? ANY info at all would be great!! Thanks!

I priced my airline's ID90 with VS and came to $101.61. Not a bad chunk of change one way when I can take us back out of LGW. I also would love to try VS, but I want to try the Upper Class experience, which I hear is awesome. But, being an ID90, they probably wouldn't upgrade me, the bloody dingoes(pathetic attempt at Aussie accent). And it would have to be a 744, because I don't jive with this A346 crap. lol

It is hit or miss with VS as far as upgrades go. For the most part I don't believe they upgrade OAL nonrevs unless it is your airline doing the insourcing and you are working the flight. However with any airline it depends on the route, station and employee working the flight you are standing by for as there never appears to be a consistent policy.
LX always upgrades me out of ZRH, but never do I get upgrades into ZRH (for example).
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.
