I'm very curious to hear who would work for which airline in the United States, and why they would chose that airline, all things being equal in terms of pay and benefits.

The one that's willing to offer me a decent paying job.
If I had the choice, it would be Northwest.
Why?
It's my favorite major domestic carrier.

If you had asked me 15 years ago I would say: American - wouldn't even think a second! At that time I have never seen an airline that had a company philosophy implemented through to the last employee! No matter if it was reservation agents serving us travel agents, flight crew, check-in staff - they were ALWAYS friendly and helpful - it was just great flying with them. Actually, I DID apply, and they wanted me to be part of their new crew in CGN. But then they didn't get enough slots and cancelled CGN (it was still East?West Germany, and AA planned to fly CGN-TXL-CGN)... Apart from AA Eagle 2 months ago on a domestic short hop, I never had the chance to fly AA again, so I can't judge today's situation...

Cheers
micha

CO first - takes care of it's people, even in bad times.

HA or AQ next only cause I like Hawaii as much as Alaska.

That's it . . . the rest are just jobs . . . . pay less than I get now . . . have to put up with public like I do now . . . .why bother.

CO, HA, AQ . . .in that order.

JetBlue:

Because they are innovative, client oriented, successful( when others aren't)and the only US airline* to provide something approaching world-class service end-to-end.

*(only US airline 4star rated by SkyTrax survey).

America West or United. If United is gone in the next 10 years probably Northwest.

Northwest or Continental <--- both good companies, more finacially stable, couple of the best route networks (like NW's more) I dont like LCC's, im a human, not a cow.

But to start, where most have to

Horizon, Pinnacle, Mesaba, Expressjet <-- all pay decent and are good companies to work for.

I would NEVER work for....
Southwest, jetBlue, Mesa, Air Tran, Fly I, or any "new start-up"

I like where I'm at right now but would like a little more stability so I would say Jetblue, still growing and making money.

Ladies always say blue is my color  Big thumbs up
