I just saw a thread about BOI getting a red eye and I am thinking. Which US airport gets the most Red Eye departures and Red Eye Arrivals and which has the most all together.
I would imagine LAX would have the most all together. But also SFO,MIA,JFK should be up there.

Well LAX has some latin American Flights which are red eyes and has alot of Red Eyes to the East Coast. JFK gets alot from the east coast and some latin American Flights. And MIA gets alot of Latin American Flights and some from the west Coast.

HNL and to a lesser extent ANC should be in there as well.

I would say that LAS and LAX have to be the favorites, but also think that ATL, ORD and the New York airports for the receiving end of these flights.

JFK, BOS have to be up there.

Here in MIA we get Red Eyes coming in from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Asuncion, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and others.

I would go for LAS too.
When I worked for HP there, we had about 60 red-eyes alone.

Well, how do you define "red eye"? I think LAS fits both definitions... people crying and people flying overnight.

When I was there in 1998 (yes, I know that was a loooong time ago) the airport was almost as busy as I've ever seen it, at 11:00 PM local time. My flight departed at 12:20 AM and was dirt-cheap.

HNL has got to be a top pick. Especially if you talk in terms of percentage, not totals. If a flight wasn't a redeye on the way in, it probably will be on the way out.
