Are there any songs that you hear that will remind you of a certain aircraft, or a certain flight you have been on. or even a certain aircraft that just intrigued you. Mine are as follows, and reasons listed
1. Cher-Believe to Nations Air 737-200 N7375F... My sister was flying to SFB in 1999, and I was going with them to the airport and I heard this song on the radio right as we pulled into the airport and I saw her plane pulling in. I dunno why, but I guess it intrigued me because it was my first time seeing a Boeing 737-200.
2. Bon Jovi - Its My Life to AirTran Boeing 717-2BD N950AT... This was my first 717 flight, and I had just bought the new CD and I listened to it as we got to cruising altitude.
That is it for now, but are there any songs you hear on the radio from time to time that remind you of a certain aircraft. If so, you truly know you have JET-A Blood type coursing through your veins.

i bring my cd's and cd player every time i fly. and i listen to music all through the flights. i'd have to say, that Linkin Park reminds me of USAirways 737's.
theres a band called Chevelle, and any song by them reminds me of CO 738's, ill never forget that. i was listening to them while on the ground waiting for a gate for 2hrs at snowed in CLE last year. and the same for waiting in the de-icing line for another couple hrs.
Another, more unpleasant one, is britney spears. some girl had her headphones way too loud at the airport while i was delayed in ATL last summer. now , unfortunately, everytime i hear any britney spears song, i think of DL MD-88's. lol

I just downloaded an instrumental called, of all things, "clubbed to death" by Ron D. Weird title, I know, but anyways, it's a song used on some commercials and movie trailers. When I hear this song, I visualize a 747-400 being rolled out of a hangar being prepped to fly. Kinda cool in my book.

Being that I listen to a classical music station on a regular basis, anything sweeping and majestic sounding gets me thinking of aircraft in general. Now, if Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue comes on, I picture a 767 in the old 1980s United colors.
I, too, also carry my music with me when I travel, and the one song that sticks out to me is one by an Australian group called the Bomfunk MCs, with the song Freestyler. It very much reminds me of a flight back to the US from Germany on an ATA L-1011. So, whenever my randomizer on my computer's mp3 plays that song, it gets me thinking of that lovely bird.

Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride reminds me of a shuttle launch. You can bet I'll be listening to that when the next one occurs, sometime in May.

I know I'm showinig my age here but I remember when Peter, Paul, and Mary released "Leaving on a Jet Plane". I always envisioned boarding a Pan Am 707 and just flying until we had to stop for fuel.

Whenever I hear
the song Blue (da ba dee) it always reminds me of flying.
Reason being that I first heard it on a plane and my
Dad gave me the CD on a plane.
Anyways, it just seems to go after all that happened!

'Tunnel of Love' by Dire Straits is my take- off song to the UA777 and it will be when I go to IAD with them on the 763.
Does anyone know why they tell you not to listen to your CD Players on take off? The Captain claims it interferes with the controls but I think thats bollocks. If a CD player does interfere at all, with any controls, at any part a flight, they would be banned!

Quoting AsstChiefMark (Reply 20): "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" reminds me of an NWA DC-9
ROFLMFAO I like that one, lol.
The Isley Brothers Summer Breeze reminds me of Britannia Airways. Around 1992 I can always remember this being played as we boarded the aircraft and the song must have been on a loop, that's all that was played.

When FL unveiled its 717 bearing Sir Elton's face on the fuselage (to promote its launch of XM Satellite radio on its aircraft), his old Rocketman song started ringing in my head.
The following morning (after I saw the A.net thread on it) on the local news, while the newcasters were making a similar announcement; lo and behold, the Rocketman was playing while a video of a FL 717 w/Sir Elton's image was taking off.
