Suppose there was a super large airport with gates leading to a 744 of each airline that is available in the world. Which airline's 744 would you automatically choose out of the whole pack to fly to your destination? How and why did you make that choice? (example: I'd go for Qantas 744ER because it's got the best ride of any 744 around!)
Same question with 777 so which one would be your first take over the others?

I'm almost certain that the longhaul spec SQ 777s would be the best in the world. Unsure for the 744s as I've only flown SQ on them, but them too for now.

CONTINENTAL ALL THE WAY
too bad about what happened to N-33021 RIP
If Continental had a hub at DFW with nonstop flights I would always fly them, unfortunantely good things take time.

744: It would have to be ANA because of it has the best livery, nice GE engines, great interior design and seats, etc.
777: Air France because they have awesome GE 90-94 and 90-115 engines although no 772LR as of yet. But if they do, then it'll be GE 90-110 for sure. I liked the choice of GE 90 for all 777s in their fleet.

I love CX's and NZ's 747! Haven't tried SQ's 747, but their A340 was pretty good (although by far not as good as their reputation). VS is said to be great, so I think I would want to try them.
For the 777 I have only been on UA and BA, so would try any other - just to try something new. AF, CO, AA, EK...

Wow, was that the tail strike? You mean they wrote it off?? Man, I guess that's the first hull loss for the 777 line then.
No, the tail strike was N78008, it's down for MX in EWR. Sounds like the rear pressure bulkhead will have to be replaced, thus the entire tail will have to come off. Would be nice if some EWR spotters can get some pics.

Quoting ZKSUJ (Reply 9): I would chosoe the NZ 744 after their refits, national pride being the main reasons.
See you there!!
25 UN_B732: I've been brainwashed by SingaporeAir to say Singapore Airlines on the 744, and maybe I'd try Emirates or Malaysia First on the 772. Expensive.
26 Jkw777: Virgin Atlantic 744 with out question & Singapore Airlines 772 for some weird reason! Cheers, Justin
27 MANTEC: For me it would have to be ANZ fabulous 747-400....after flying all the way from Heathrow to Auckland via Los Angeles I didn't want to get off! I have
28 BA380: BA 744, and I would turn left into the nosecone for 5K BA 777 and head right for the front for 1K
29 Tittlemouse: For the 747 - Gotta be MAS 744 and the 777 - SE Asia rules - has to be SQ! I would handcuff myself to the seat so when the a/c went back into service
30 UsAirways16bwi: my 1st choice is a US A330-300 but since its just 777 or 747, my 2nd choice would be an Air Pacific 747-400!!
31 Fiatstilojtd: For the 747 - Mas For the 777 - OS as long as it is in the NG Colo(u)r. After the "repainting" no way.... .
32 Doona: 744 - I want to say VS, but I get the feeling that seeing out the window might be hard... so SQ, all the way... 777 - EK... no question... Cheers Mats
