Alright...next week, the 13th I am flying Ted 1498 (ORD-FLL)

I was wondering what your experiences were while flying them.

I am not expecting too much, but I am hoping it will be somewhat enjoyable. The price was right leaving from ROC going through ORD during our spring break...It was 90 dollars incl. taxes. Not bad.

I am unfortunately not in ECO +, but I am hoping to score that or an emergency exit row if I check in early enough (easy check in online)

Thanks for your input, it's greatly appreciated, as I am excited to try out a new "airline."

Pronounce Ted backward. That about sums everything up in a nutshell.

I've flown Ted from IAD to FLL a few times. It's a good product for the liesure markets....catering to folks who just want to get to a vacation spot for a reasonable price. With the exception of no first class and some Ted-specific things like the safety video and $5 snack boxes, you'll experience reliable and professional United Airlines service. The flight crew are all United employees. The inflight entertainment includes Channel 9 so enjoy listening to air traffic control on your flight.

Ignore Bagmasher...he seems like a disgruntled employee whose opinion is jaded by how the changes in the industry have affected his job. He should change jobs.

Flew with TED from ORD to Vegas and back last summer. Great fun, great service and an upgrade on the way back. The crew seemed to enjoy their time with the pax, cheerful and professional. On time both ways, all in all very impressed. They knocked the spots off AA mainline.

I have flown Ted more often than I can count. It is pretty decent. Let me put it this way: If I were in Economy from point A to point B, and could choose between Mainline and Ted, I would go with Ted. THe only exclusion is that I can usually upgrade to first on mainline, which I usually do.
The snack boxes are pretty good if you are hunglry, and worth the $5. There will be 4 FA's, instead of the required 3. YOu will have "Tedevision", which has some pretty entertaining shows, such as Leno, Conan, Reba, etc. Last time from ORD-TPA, we even had a movie.
The only thing which ticks me off is that you can't have a full can of your beverage. You can still always ask for more.

Just so you know, the emergency exit rows are part of Economy plus, and are for Premier Executives and 1K's only. They are usually always filled up. One thing which does work is 45 minutes prior to departure see the Gate Agent, and ask her for a seat further up, or lets say a different seat than you have. Back when I was not an elite, it worked every time.

I am happy you liked it, but it really is not an upgrade, since they are really the same class.

Aboslutely, the extra few inches make a huge difference.

I just flew TED back in December and was pretty happy with the service. Not much different from a regular United flight.

Good service, Good Aircraft (A320), Good Entertainment (Inc Ch9),

No Problem

Personally speaking, I have not flown on Ted. I have seen pictures of Ted aircraft here.

Ummm.... I do not mind flying on Ted. Just that Ted does not fly to CMH. Maybe in the near future, who knows?

United will always be major airline to me. Ted is less business-oriented airline to me. I will regret it if I do not fly on Ted at all.

I think I am alright  Smile

All joking aside I flew 'Ted' from MCO to ORD this summer past, and it was a nice flight. Just made me realize that you can technically say there is another airline that has Channel 9 service.

NO, since the plane is outfitted for 156 seats 4 FA's are required NOT 3!

Personally, I thought Ted was pretty good. Flew them a few times btwn LAS, LAX, DEN and MSY.

Always got E+ and although you have to pay if you want to eat, the quality of what you got for your buck was very good.

Ted, I really like it. I flew it in January from TPA to IAD. The plane was overbooked and my group did not have seats assigned and I was getting a little nervous. We finally did get our seats and they gave us Econ Plus. Nice and roomy. They don't have PTV's but the overhead screen entertainment was very good. The service by the F/A was very professional. The pilots spent a lot of time talking with the passengers before pushback. That was a nice change. The other passengers seemed to be impressed with the overall professionalism and attentivines of the F/A and pilots. I know I was impressed. I really like Channel 9. I give the experience an A+.
