I really feel as though as Tel Aviv's brand new El Al Terminal is the nicest I have ever been in. I think it took about 4 years to make and it is absolutely stunning. Completely surrounded by huge glass panes and a huge lobby area with basically a shopping mall full of awesome stores to me it's gotta be at the very least top 10 nicest in the world currently.

One of my top favorites is the KIAD (star alliance terminal)
In fact the entire airport!

and since autumn 2004 the new E pier at LSZH (ZRH)!
the new A pier of EBBR(BRU) is also very good!

Best terminal in the world?

I am not sure. I am thinking of DCA's new terminal.

Terminal 2 at Changi airport Singapore, is simply unbeatable.
They have just about finished upgrading it, and it has new carpet, new huge glass panels where photographing planes is very good. Television corners every 200 meters with channels such as CNN, ESPN etc. there.
No lack of seats. Free internet, a lot of plants planted at the side making the airport even better, and giving it a tropical feeling.
As well as that, the SQ raffles class lounge is excellent with imported German Moevenpick or Haagen Datz ice cream(Sorry if I spelled that wrong).
Lot's of duty free shopping areas throughout the terminal, a food court with Burger King/Subway, and lot's of asian food, simply unbeatable.
Changi terminal 1 is just about as good as terminal two, I just took terminal 2 as the best terminal because that is where SQ and LH arrive and depart(I usually fly with either of them).

Cheers, Konstantin G.

Out of the airports that I've been to, I really like AMS. But as far as remodeling is concerned, my hat goes off to DUS. What a difference from before the fire!

REK is small, but very nice
CGN's new terminal is great
YOW is beautiful
AKL International is not bad

quite a few actually... For spotting I still think that FRA is number one - huge observatons decks at both terminals...

Eventhough the terminals are not attractive and very old they get the job done. LAX has very simple terminals and its always nice to go through there. Quick in and out. Some terminals that I didn't like were the Int terminal at Vancouver, JFK, ORD, and Frankfurt. Frankfurt was very confusing because they divide the airlines by the ones that are part of the Eurpean Alliance or are not. And if you are going to a non-alliance airline you have to go though different securities and different secluded terminal areas and it was very confusing.

The nicest terminal I have been in is the terminal at AUS. It is beautiful! The famous Texan granite is everywhere, and it looks very modern inside. However, I have not been abroad that much, so I wouldn't know. My father likes the AMS terminal quite a bit.

EDIT:Spelling!

SEA, once the remodeling is finished. The north and south satellites look very worn out, the C/D/B concourses are okay, but the new A concourse is stunning! Nice new gates, plenty of open space, and better workspace, and waiting areas.
But, in June, remodeling will be complete w/everything you could possibly ask for. Just wait and see  Wink

AMS definitely, but I also have to say CPH is really nice too.

In North America it would have to be the international terminal at YVR.

I agree with the McNamera/Northwest Worldport terminal at DTW and DCA, (the new sections only). Unforuntley the new part of DCA has lost a little of it's beauty due to additional security installations post-9/11. Where UA is at ORD isn't bad either. The DTW Worldport has great views of the runways and where else can you see so many DC-10's and DC-9's  biggrin

I love AMS. It feels very "roomy" and it's bright. Easy to navigate and nice windows for spotting.

Another terminal I like is terminal 4 at ARN. I have many good memories from all my domestic flights with SK as a kid and we always changed planes at that terminal. Perhaps not the most beautiful terminal in the world, but it works fine  Smile

Hey Patrick, you must be kidding !! I vote Terminal 2 as the worst terminal in the world ! No kidding ! They keep renovating many times until to this current design which in my opinion looks hideous for an airport. It lost the airport feeling (Check in counter) .
