My list thus far goes:

BA 777s - GE and RR - Bought 777s before Trent 800 was available

Qantas 747-400 - GE and RR - 747-400ER not available with RR, but why the normal -400s with GE?

SAA 747-400 - GE and RR - picked up an unwanted order

Air Canada 767-300/ER - GE and PW - merger

I'm sure there are others, the reasons as well as the names would be useful!

Delta has a mixed fleet of 767s with both Pratts & GEs. Why, I don't know.
Northwest had DC-10s with Pratts (series 40) & 2nd-tier series 30s with GEs.
When the 707 was flying, there were carriers using both Pratts on the -320s & RR Conways on the -420s...I think British Airways was one of them.
There are more out there, but this is all I can think of at the moment. Regards.

Yeah, Air New Zeland was another Airline to tak up the unwanted 747-4F6 which I think were ordered by Philipines but then never taken up, this is how SAA got their GE 747-400s.

Thanks for the info!

FEDEX
They pick up almost every MD-11 that is retired by a passenger airline. They have both PW and GE.

BA
At one time their 747-100/200 had PW and RR engines AND they also operated a GE powered one for a short time.

AA
757 RR powered plus the PW ones through the TWA merger. Also i believe their 767 are mixed GE and PW from the TWA merger.

LH
IIRC they operated PW and RR conway 707's.

Stupid question alert!!!!!

Anyone ever see say a 757 with a GE on one side and a P&W on the other?

That's what I originally interpreted this thread to be about.
