Must say I'm a fan of the Qantas livery. But was looking at some modified airliner images and have found a real challenge to the best livery Qantas would have...

Not liking it at all. The two-colour roos just do nothing for me, it's too busy, and has too many colours in it - would be more expensive to apply and maintain than the current livery. The current Qantas livery is clean and elegant, and the emphasis on red clearly says "Australia."
Only thing I don't like about the current livery is that expanse of white in the front, but that's nothing a cheat line wouldn't cure.
As a one-off special plane, it'd be okay, I guess.

It is similar to the Thai Airways new livery in that all the color is at the back end of the plane and everything from the middle on is all white - gives the whole thing an un-balanced look, IMO.

That's quite nice. That desert orange colour is typical Australian.
Anyone know what happened to that A.net member who used to design liveries? He had some awesome designs.

Quoting Kahala777 (Reply 3): The black does not suit Qantas well. It is a bit Air Pacific, meets South African!
Exactly. It also looks a bit too much like Australian Airlines livery colours as well. Leave it the way it is I say. Clean, crisp, elegant and timeless.

The current livery looks better - it's timeless, classy, simple, yet elegant - although both could benefit from having less white.
It's not bad though, kind of cool, I agree with using it as a special livery on one airplane.

Quoting Monteycarlos (Reply 15):
Well if thats the case maybe we should paint the cross of St.George on the tail and be done with it!
Your going to be asking for it from QFF.
I think if you made me choose I would stickwith the current livery.
Maybe if it could be transfered onto a picture of an actual jet to give it a more real looking appearance I might have a dfferent opinion.
Also, the colours are very similar to those on the aboriginal flag.

sometimes I actually want to see the whole logo, rather than a larger version of something that already fits on the tail perfectly. I can guarantee that it would date so quickly, and be instantly recognisable as designed in 2005 in years to come. There are better ways of updating the livery IMO.

It would certainly be nice on a "special livery" plane or something.. like on their 200th airbus/boeing or something or whatever no. is next, but I think if they did that on every plane in their fleet it might be a bit over-done. But maybe that's just me.

don't like it at all. the current livery is timeless. the above livery looks a bit cheap. and look at the paint on the winglets....kinda looks like JAL's new livery winglets...like most of have said, maybe a special livery...but i hope not.

It's pretty cheesy! Might have worked in the early 90s but it's not exactly contemporary.
Qantas current scheme is a trademark and doesn't really need changing. It surprises me that so many aircraft with good heritage change their schemes.
A340-300 - slow, but awesome!
25 Qantasflyer: Qantas has one of the best liveries around and although there current livery is much better i must say that out of all the fake qantas liveries that i
26 Schipholjfk: Thumbs down! Does not look good at all.
27 Doona: That's great. I always like it when an airline is able to adopt a colourful C/S. And still keeping it classy. Go for it QF!!! Cheers Mats
28 Cathay744: I think Qantas current Livery is Perfect and needs no change.
29 ZKSUJ: Looks very good and new. I don't think they need to change at the moment though, but good looking livery
30 Ib16uk: I personally thought it was a bit to busy - to many colours and took me a second or two to work out that there was kangaroos on the back of the plane
