Which Airport Is The Most Challenging?

This can be answered by pilots or anyone who thinks which airport is the most challenging in terms of landings and takeoffs, runway lengths, or anything else that might present any kind of difficulty. I asked a friend who is a captain for TA if TGU is really that difficult, to my surprise he said that "It's a walk in the park"  Wow!

Here are the three hardest I've been into.

On the opposite end is where the major crest is. If you look closely you can see it. Directly behind the airplane (the one the photographer is in) is a 200 foot high dirt hill and a very, very deep quarry.

These next two are just crazy, just read the comments. There's no airplane that can fly easily out of these airports, even just flying the Champ into these airports is hair raising!

How is Newark challenging? Well I can see rwy 11/29 being challenging cause of the length and where it's located, but other than that..I have no idea.  candle

In France NCE has a bad reputation (frequent crosswinds, quite short runways)

To any North American carrier, send us a regular flight in MRS !!!!!

If the airport on the second picture is so dangerous as the remark says I wonder why don't they cut the trees at both ends of the runway...

At the bus station, buses stop. At the train station, trains stop. At my desk, I have a work station.

Many years ago, I rememeber the ABC show 20/20 did this same poll. According to pilots, the top 5 were, in no particular order:

1. Los Angeles
2. New York-La Guardia
3. Orange County John Wayne
4. San Diego
5. Washington-National

Most reasons were because of the airport surrrondings such as buildings, monuments, or water. I believe the reason for LAX was because at night, the airport tends to blend in with the city lights.
