Hi folks,
does someone have any idea where i can get really good deals for a flight to NYC (30th August - 10th September), dont have to be the exact dates, but around this time.

The cheapest I was able to find was €582 (incl. taxes and charges if ticketed as eTicket) on Air France...
As for last-minute-deals... if you don't mind paying 3 or 4 times the amount that you've got right now, then yes... but these flights (high season!) won't be getting much cheaper closer to the departure date - in all likelihood, they'll just be going up.
Regards,
Frank
P.S.: I just checked AF's own website, and that quotes €551,73 for the flight.

hey,
thanks for the answer.
End of August is still high season? When does it end?
I am quite flexible on travel dates, so i am not bound to the time quoted.

Hi,
purely guessing (I'm not at the office, so I cannot look into any CRS), I'd say high season will end sometime beginning to mid September; the last set of Summer holidays - Bayern - ends on 12. September, with Baden Württemberg ending just two days earlier, so you've still got quite a few people using the last one or two weeks for a trip out of the country...
But keep in mind that all people that are not bound by the holidays usually want to leave within one or two days after the high season is over - which can sometimes lead to cheap high-season-fares being better than the expensive low-season-fares that you'd be getting, because the flights are already filling up again.
By the way - is the age-group you've got in your profile correct (21-25)? If yes, then you're still eligable for most youth fares, because most of them are for passengers "below 26 years" - LH and AC being exceptions that come to my mind right now, because they only accept "below 25 years" as youths; anyone above that would need to be a student with ISIC card.
Personally, I'd always use a website (that is, if you want to book over the internet) that's not an airline website - but use something that looks though several airlines; if you find something good there, you can always go on to check the airline's own website to see if they've got an even better offer - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
Personally, I usually check through things like Expedia or Opodo, as well as the website of my own employer - but I usually end up booking flights for myself through the CRS at the office...
Feel free to eMail (or IM) me if you need any further hints.

$859 USD on SN Brussels (operated by AA). But I had to look at all this backwards.. I can't put in "MUC to JFK and back".. so it's probobly wrong. But it's ok.. I'm getting better at this!

Sonyericsson,
according to your userprofile you should qualify as "Youth" (up to 25 years).
The cheapest flight I could find on your defined days is on IB @ 512 EUR (www.skyways.de right in Munich !):
Date Flight depart arrive from to
30.08.05 IB 3539 12:45 15:20 Muenchen MUC Madrid MAD
30.08.05 IB 6253 17:00 19:15 Madrid MAD New York JFK
10.09.05 IB 6252 21:00 10:10 New York JFK Madrid MAD
11.09.05 IB 3538 16:40 19:00 Madrid MAD Muenchen MUC
Price is including taxes, but probably PLUS some handling fee.
