I think they're looking for something along the lines of a funny name... And I would say that AA owns the TWA name seeing as they took the airline.

I like 'em buying the rights to and resurrecting the Pan Am name and logo, personally.
But if we're going with a wholly-new name, I'd suggest Destiny Air Lines.

would have been known as "A & W".....like the root beer. But in all seriousness, let's the US/HP deal be known as "Allegheny Air". Let's go back to their heyday when times were much better then. Regards.

"Destiny" may be pushing it a little for US... there's a little thing called "tempting fate"!
"Air America"? Don't know anything about the CIA crap during the Vietnam War, but I know there was a charter airline with this name. And it is a great name...

How about US West?
(for those of you who don't know, US West was a phone company covering the western portion of the United States with a reputation for lousy customer service). I'll leave you all to argue whether the metaphor fits or not, especially as I've never flown them, but I do think the US people I've worked with are terrific!

What about resurrecting the "Republic" name? That would resonate well with people - albeit not quite as well as Pan Am would.
