Hi there,

I'd like to know your opinions on Snoopy-nose liveries. Following two come to mind:

Alitalia

Honestly, I personally hate these odd noses (not the airlines, nor even liveries themselves, just those noses). But I want to hear your opinions also.
If anyone recalls other liveries of this kind, feel free to post the pics below.

Best regards

I generally am not a fan, however the WW 'Red Nose Baby' for comic relief was a nice theme.

I think they look good as long as the nose isn't too big. AZ and AI look cute, like a little mouse or something, but Malev's nose job looks like a parrot.

I think it makes the livery look older. just as those IB A343 that used to have snoopy noses.thankfully they are getting removed !

I think it just messes up the rest of the livery.....

I never did like the snoopy-nose on Malev. I think the livery would look alot better if Malev got rid of the colored nose. I do like the way it looks on Alitalia.

If used in the wrong way, they make the plane look so unprofessional.

Northwest Orient's, AA's, and Alitalia's I like. Malev's look so freaky, it's not even funny!

Why not go whole Snoopy instead of just the nose?

Now seriously, I like the look of that AZ, but I think the Snoopy nose doesn't look good on every plane.

Don't expect to see me around that much (if at all) -- the contact link should still work, though.

Ok so why do the BA 737's and 757's have that funny ring around the nose?

They look dated and horrid in my opinion.

However, I love the black ring on the BA 73/75's, really adds character,

Well...I think that black snoopy-nose is very old-fashioned livery. Not many airlines have it in this present. CAL old livery used to have one already. I also dont like black half-circle which is placed in front of the cockpit window on the old CAL livery. Some airlines still have it nowaday.

Hi there,

thanks everyone for the replies. Glad to see I am not the only one who dislikes those odd noses.

What's interesting is that apparently Alitalia itself makes the snoopy noses look more subtle on their newest aircraft, like 777.

On the other hand there are airplanes that are supposed to look funny wearing such noses, like the bmibaby thing posted above or these two (and they are OK, doing the job):

I have to say, when the nose is that small,
It looks too small to be there at all.

I know that this is off topic, but what looks so awful about that plane's engines? Are they supposed to be like that?  Yeah sure

Devon,

I believe you are being sarcastic. But just to make sure you've got the right answer... that A340 was testing out the RR Trent 900 that went to the A380. It was testing out Performance. The First 747-100 (stored at the Boeing Museum), did the same with the Trent 800s for the 777.

Cheers! wave
