When you travel to a country outside of yours, do you take the national airline of your country or the airline of the country that you are traveling to?
I remember traveling to YEG a few times out of the year, I only took AC 1 time and that was the first time I went to Canada. After that I stuck to NW connecting in MSP all the way, mainly because the travel time felt shorter.
But what about you? What is your choice when traveling abroad? National airline or the airline of the country you are heading to?

Most of my flights are either KL or AC/LH. I'm very happy with all three. I have also tried BA which I really enjoyed, but I don't like their FFP. I have also tried a few US airlines (DL,UA,NW), and was very displeased with them so I try to avoid them now.

Most of the time, I fly AF, because I have the most direct flights, and very often the most interesting schedules. And I have good service.
10years ago, when AF service was not as good, I used to share my flts between SR, BA and EK.

From SYD I try to take QF where possible (lounge access, quicker check-in, ffp's etc). And is there anything better than getting a copy of the SMH handed to you on the plane after being in London? Its a welcome home.
