I was just wondering, since FR and U2 are Eu´s biggest LCC´s, wich on e is the best, or less worse?
Also, in terms of routes and cities serverd, I´ve always heard better things from U2 than from FR.

Europeans, what are your opnion?

I definitely go for Easyjet and would never put one feet into a Ryanair plane. This is actually for one major reason: At Easyjet the individual employee is a human being, at Ryanair the employee makes part of the inventory that is used until it brakes and then thrown away.

i think the fact that easyjet is run by a man keen on having fun and not about much else helps the fact why its such a good low cost carrier which is why it wins my vote. to me i see ryanair as the council house airline ( not meaning to cause offence) which is why i would never set foot on ryanair

You cant have your cake and eat it... What the hells the point in having it then!!!

I would choose EZY because they serve better airports.I don't want to have to drive 100km from the airport to the city.

You may not want to, I may not want to or anyone else may not want too, but thats why Ryanair are so Sucessful and are the Biggest LCC is Europe. They Don't fly to the Major City because they want to cut down on Taxes, but this is a perfectly fine to do. Because people would drive 100 miles to save £50...lol

EasyJet. The staff look like they actually enjoy their job. I went to Sardinia with Chav-Air , errr, sorry, Ryanair and encountered a stressed out crew trying to sell anything just to meet targets I suspect. I know they have made air travel affordable for many and created thousands of jobs etc; but I prefer a scheduled airline such as BA because (i) I'm protected if anything goes wrong and won't be left to fend for myself (ii) the level of service/on-board comforts are obviously superior and (iii) I dislike going to out-of-the-way airports. I fly a lot and need convenience.

To be honest I love both, can get great prices which for someone on a tight budget with flights is great. Easyjet just edge it for me thought because they serve very frequently from my local airport, LGW!

I like both as well. Easyjet was really good, the serve better aiports. But you can get a FR ticket usually quite a bit cheaper, even though you have to take a bus or train to get downtown, at least you can see the countryside.

2x 100 miles = 320 kilometers; now let's say your car does 13 kilometers to 1 liter, that makes 24.61 liters; gasoline here cost 1.339 Euro per liter and that makes 32,95 Euros...in other words, where did your "profit" go by flying Ryanair ? and than, not even taking the longer ground-trip traveltime into consideration !

In other words: would definitely take U2 i.s.o. FR, besides I can make "proper" connections also at those main airports, if I want to ! Noticed also, that U2 is not always more expensive than FR: wouldn't you preferred to travel AMS-GLA i.s.o. ground-travel AMS-HHN, than fly FR to PIK, than ground-travel PIK-GLA again: just consider the difference ot total travel-time between the 2 airlines as well  Wow!

don't throw away tomorrow !

As I explained in my thread 'Ryanair the best LCC in Europe' I have never had a problem with ryanair and have taken quite a few flights with them. They have opened up travel around Europe for people like myself of a limited income.Have flown easyjet once and had problems. That will not stop me flying them again if the price was right. All LCC's do a great job for a great price.

BMIBaby all the way! easyJet does my head in with the worn out seat padding and fight to get a good seat. RyanAir, well where do you start? The only reason I'm taking them to DUB is because I have never been on a 732 and wanted to before they are all gone!

I couldn't agree more.

I won't state reasons as all of them have been already commented and I can see that many of us think the same way when comparing FR and U2.

I think Easyjet is a fresh, young, dynamic, nice, efficient and professional airline.

Having flown both recently, I have to say that I much prefer easyJet. Friendlier crews, fly to more convenient airports, better boarding system (groups broken down into smaller "chunks" than Ryanair), cleaner, nicer-looking aircraft, lack of tacky adverstising all over the place (who doesn't know about Mars Bars for crying out loud?!) - just generally a nicer flying experience.

Just don't get me started on easyCruise, easyHotel, easy4men (yes, they now have their own range of male grooming products!) etc., etc. - know when to stop Stellios!!

Well it all depends on which airline travels to where I want to go and the price they are going to charge me. Given that i don't think these two airlines go head to head on an identical route then I don't have to make such a choice.

I don't understand all this "I'll ever step foot on one of their aircraft" nonesense unless someone has had a bad experience first-hand. Both carriers are fine for what they are trying to achieve: safe, reliable and affordable travel. If they fly to where you need to be and offer a significantly cheaper fare than the competition (as they often do) then almost everyone will go for it, those who don't obviously have too much money on their hands and can gladly donate some of it to me!

However, if the question was which carrier tries to display more of an effort to make you feel welcome, then the obvious answer is easyJet.

Like a fine wine, one gets better with age.
