Apologies if this topic is a repeat of something similar - I did a couple of searches but couldn't find any matches close enough to my question.
I am flying the schedule shown below with Delta in Y next week and have read mixed reviews of Delta's service in this forum. The trip will be my first experience of a non-EU carrier and my first scheduled carrier crossing the pond.

You´ll get a pretty decent product on the transatlantic flights, however nothing too fancy. I´ve always considered Delta to be a good airline, however among the US airlines, CO has some kind of touch that the others (including Dl) simply lack.
Seat pitch is standard (31"-32"), there are PTVs on the 777 in Y-Class but not on the 763.
CVG is a very convenient airport for connections and has nice facilities. However, from a spotter´s perspective, it might be rather boring...there´s Delta, Delta and...Delta
I haven´t been on one of DL´s MD-80s yet so I cannot comment on how they look inside.
Have fun in Orlando and be sure to get on the Incredible Hulk, the best rollercoaster in the world (well, that´s just my opinion).

I agree with 9V on the Hulk. I flew DL SFO-ATL-MCO. The flights were alright - nothing noteworthy. Of course the flights were late SFO-ATL (where's my 500 miles, DL!?!?). Just be prepared for A LOT of kids to MCO (have your iPod charged and a good book).

I flew DL quit often last year, all domestic US. If you don't expect anything it's a good airline. All my flights were on-time and my baggage was delivered promptly upon arrival. As far as in flight service: 1 beverage free of charge (non-alcoholic) for a short flight (e.g. ATL-MCO), 2 free beverages on somewhat longer flights (ATL-LAS). No free meals tough, bring your own. I found ATL a nice airport to transfer. Be prepared to use self-service machines, also for missed connections, transferdesks like in ZRH and AMS are rare or not open.

I went on DL 45 AMS-CVG last summer & it was a good flight. Their 767s are in pretty good shape, although the IFE can get boring, especially if it's something you've seen before/don't want to see. You'll get a movie going East & two movies going West, along with a "Relaxation" video after takeoff, showing exercises you can do in flight to stay comfortable, several TV shows, documentaries, a 6-minute SkyTeam video, etc. The time I was on that flight, the flight was I think 8 hours & 9 minutes, so you may be bored out of your mind by the time you get to CVG. Other than that, I had good service on that flight last year.
Delta's MD-88s are a bit cramped & they aren't the most comfortable planes in the world, but they're not terrible either. They can get loud in the back (obviously), but the noise isn't too much of a problem if you're sitting toward the front. Some of the MD-88s have the new interior, which is basically leather seats & modernized interiors...I was on one before Christmas. To be honest, I like their older interior better.
Delta's 777s are nice. I was on one last summer CVG-CDG. I've never been on one on that short of a flight, so I don't know if they'll turn on any video IFE for you on the PTVs...they'll do that on other planes, even on flights that are around an hour in length. They should have at least the Airshow & the music channels up & running.
Hubs: CVG is a reasonably quiet airport (I couldn't believe how few people there were when I got back from AMS last summer), but as 9V-SVF said, it's not much for spotting...it's virtually all Delta. As for transfer (you asked about that), almost all of Delta's mainline flights are operated out of Concourse B, so you'll probably go into & out of B. I don't know whether or not they'll send you out of A (I don't know how they determine that), but if you have to go out of A, there's a train & a walkway between A & B.
ATL's a huge airport, but seeing as you're on a 777 MCO-ATL, you'll be arriving on Concourse E- the International terminal. As a result, you won't have to take the train to catch the AMS flight...you'll be where you want to be. Your transfer there should be really easy.

I would recommend sitting in 29E or 30E on the M88. I know it's closer to the back, but those rows have a more generous pitch (33"-35").
763's are in great shape, I was on N178DZ and N174DZ (Domestic configured ER's) earlier this year and they were great, generous pitch. Not sure about the international versions.
My personal fav. in the DL fleet is the 738. Gotta love the section of the plane that gives you a nice 36" pitch

I flew out of MAN-ATL 10-16 of May on a 767-300ER. A/C was in very good condition, N120DL and N128DL being my 2 a/c that time. Transfer at MAN from BD out of GLA took about 5 mins, very quickly checked in to ATL and then bussed directly to my a/c. My first impression of the interior was very good, clean, smelt fresh and friendly cabin crew greeted me on arrival. Seated in 28A, just behind the wing. I'm 6ft 2in and i thought the seat pitch was comforable for my height. Service was fantastic! the only word to describe it. Food was excellent, many drinks rounds which included full 330ml cans of coke! plus water services. No PTV's though but that wasn't to serious a problem, as i had a choice of several screens. Crew were very friendly and efficient and did a superb job in helping me complete my customs form.
Delta are a great airline to fly for, and i'll definately choose Delta when i fly out to ATL next year. Keep up the good work!

Not too much to add - I have flown DL a dozen or so times, and found them the same as most US domestic carriers. However, my last flight with them was enough to think it was time offer another airline my custom. I was on a packed MD-11, flying ATL-JFK. I know it is difficult to serve everyone with a smile, but the f/a did not even ask me what I wanted from the beverage cart - he just poked a finger in my direction. Probably he was having a bad air day, but I did not ever think any airline would treat a full-fare customer like that.
