Oh good lord, one of the worst maintained aircraft I've ever been on was an ex-TWA AA 757. That plane was in awful cosmetic condition; the seats were terrible and it seemed like everything in the passenger cabin was falling apart. And, man, was it dirty. It was in stark contrast to the rest of AA's fleet.

I won't miss those TW birds in the slightest when they're gone. Handsome old livery, though.

AA ruined them.

I have yet to fly on one of those TW 757s configured with the "mini-cabin" in the back. Unfortunately, living in MIA, I don't think AA flies them down here at all. Sad

I miss TW a great deal, I still haven't found a carrier that I devote 100% of my flying to. Their 757s were classy, they had the extra lav and the bulkhead in-between the two coach sections - which I love! The TW 757s flying with AA are definately no the same!!!

Not a day goes by I don't miss TW, PA, EA and BN. The industry seems sort of "hollow" with none of them in the air. I flew EA a LOT, and they were always wonderful.

It's better than being parked in the desert...they would have been ruined there after TWA went under.

We(twa) never flew the 757 to the UK, but did to LIS...and as far as missing the 75, it was a great plane to work from a crew standpoint...a twa crew standpoint that is. I dont know how the current AA crews like them (and dont care)

Does a 757 have the range to fly HNL-STL?? I know they initally started that route with a 747 then downgraded to a 763 when the 747's were parked.

Not non-stop, right? Where did they stop for fuel? LAX?

Right after they parked the last 747 and before they had enough 767s on the property, they flew the 757-200 STL-HNL. Nonstop on the eastbound, but westbound required a fuel stop at LAX.

It's sad to see what's happened to those 75's. A lot of them that fly into KOA with TWA's reg. #'s are in BAD need of repair. Although I have to agree with a lot of people in this discussion and say that the last cs they wore prior to the takeover was sweet, to say the least. I kinda miss the old livery as well. In the words of Howard Hughes, "bring me the milk, bring me the milk, bring me the milk, bring me the milk, bring me the milk...." =0)
