I am flying on AA to Tuscon from BOS on the 22nd of july onboard flight 2417 to DFW, and flight 1066 to TUS. I havn't flown AA in several years. How is their service? Will i get free snacks like on CO, or will i have to pay for stuff like on NW? Also, are their MD-80s nice? i'm stuck on a 757 from BOS-DFW, and then MD-80s from DFW-TUS, then TUS-DFW-BOS. If anyone could answer a few of my questions it would be helpful.

Thanks!!
Happy 4th of July!!

Something in between. No free sandwiches though.

AA offers tortilla chips and soda, nothing more for DFW-TUS.

BOS-DFW, you might have buy on board I think.

757 BOS-DFW, Hope you get an ex TWA one, or otherwise, stuck is the word. I hate flying AA 757's, I try to book myself on ex TWA 757's.

I flew on a TWA 757 last Jan. from DFW-PHX. They sure are great, it's like stepping back in time when you board.

Amen dude!!! I always book ex TWA Flights. My first ex TWA 757 flight with AA, good lord, the interior was all TWA and the seats and gallery and everything. it really did feel like I was flying TWA again! I ran my fingers over the huge TWA sticker over the oven door. I would look at the TWA initials on the blanket (they still had them at the time). I got so sad..lol. I swore every 757 I flew with AA had to be an EX TWA or I wouldn't fly. they are so much more comfortable then AA's 757. being a STL flyer, you sure miss TWA a lot Sad

I miss ex TW's 757 a lot. It's really sad to see that they are actually in pretty bad shape now. And if you add the bad service of AA... Sad

Check out the new SkyLink at DFW for spotting. If you can stomach all the AA metal its pretty awesome!

Check out www.airlinequality.com to see pax comments from every major airline in the world. I must say that I was a little surprised to see so many hateful, negative responses regarding AA......and AA is going to be charging for their snack boxes effective 8-1-05, so it looks like you'll be missing that one! CO is the only airline not currently charging for meal service. Also, check out www.airlinemeals.net and you can see what every airline is serving in every class.

Working for Chelsea, I know that CO has no plans to start charging for meal service anytime soon. Since we are the only major airline not charging for meal service, they know that this will, in the long run, attract more passengers. On a separate note, we just won our second consecutive OAG Airline of the Year award!

I just got back from a trip on AA on both MD80's and 757s. The MD80's were nice with the newer seats and very, very quite in the front. No meals though. The 757s were a bit older, but nonetheless enjoyable planes. The f/a were good on all my flights, expect the last flight on an MD80. They only went through the cabin once on a 4 hour flight to give out drinks. Needless to say, I pressed my call button after a while and got some water. Also, no pillows on the MD80, with a few blankets on board. Enjoy your trip!

According with some previous post, you only pay for transportation from point A to point B. Not for 5 stars restaurant. That the pillows and blankets have bacterias, etc. I never agree with that, since other carriers give you some kind of decent service [like CO in some ways].

I agree with you. And that's why i like to fly JJ from Brazil-US and in the US i will try CO service. A cold breakfast on GRU-MIA was my last bad experience with AA service. I paid a USD 100 fine to get into MIA-GRU-GIG JJ A332 flight (and received an upgd!)  Smile

FYI, American has pulled all pillows and for the most part, blankets off all of their domestic economy flights.

That's simply great for such a long flight. I pay US$60 for SJO/MIA/SJO [each way] with Martinair[B738] for the upgrade. Only 2,25 hours flight. And subject to availability.

In fact TAM is a very good company with their FF's. If you are one top FF probably you will receive upgd on every Friday night flight GRU-CDG, GRU-EZE, GRU-MIA. Some days you face the same situation: overbooking on Y.

They are in the process of removing them on all domestic economy class cabins, there is no mention of doing so on any international routes as of yet.

You don`t even have to mention that. It´s obvious, as well will LAN. Both, the best of Latin America. Or the entire continent without hesitation.
