I need to buy & book a ticket for an Aug, 14 flight from Florida Airports (MIA, FLL or MCO) to LAX on early morning. Also an Aug, 27 LAX to NYC (EWR or LGA).
Can anyone indicate the best service available and your preferences ? Alliances are not so important as i'm only JJ FF pax (could only accrual miles on AA). It will be my first domestic US trip.
Rgds,
Felipe

Continental Airlines!
On August 14th, you'd fly FLL-IAH (757-200) and IAH-LAX (757-300) and then on the 27th, LAX-EWR nonstop (737-800).
FLL-IAH offers a beverage service, IAH-LAX offers a sandwich/snack and LAX-EWR offers Lunch.
$340 roundtrip- and if you check in online, you can print a free headset cupon ($5 savings).

Southwest.
Because you won't get any BS attitude and stupid ticketing restrictions and ludicrous change fees.
A caveat ~ No IFE. Most of a.net acts like they die if they are away from a TV for more than 4 hours. But as long as you are literate, read. Or just look out the window and think. Rots your brain less than TV.

I'd take CO. I flew them for the first time this year, and I'd definately fly them again. They were very comfy and professional. Also, the 757 is a great aircraft unless you want to try to catch a flight on a 767 or 777.

Are you looking for a roundtrip, or one way? If roundtrip, let us know the dates you're coming back.
If you dont mind flying into LGB, then Jetblue definitely.
On the 14th, Jetblue is offering FLL-LGB, Nonstop, for $132.70 (Tax Included). This is the cheapest in the FLL/MIA/PBI/MCo area.
JBU244
Airbus A320
Depart 6:40am
Arrive 9:00am
FLL-LGB
This is the best Price/Service ratio you can get among any US Carrier for the particular day/time your travelling on.
If you must fly into LAX, then the cheapest on the 14th is:
Southwest
MCO-BNA-LAX
Depart 6:35am from MCO
Arrive in LAX at 10:35am
Price = $144.40 (Tax Included)
Go with Jetblue if you can go to LGB...Nice Service, DirecTV, watch some sports, movies, etc. Cant beat that - and as I said, its the cheapest in the FLL/MIA/PBI/MCO area!
Flying a plane is no diff. from riding a bicycle. Its just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes. -'Airplane'

As for LAX-LGA/EWR....hehe, definitely choose:
Midwest Express
LAX-MCI-LGA
Boeing 717-200 All the way through
Price = $164.00 (Tax Included)
Depart LAX: 7:25am
Arrive LGA: 5:59pm
Its actually the cheapest airline on the day your flying to LGA/EWR. There are a few other flights to JFK on other airlines, but they're only about $5-$10 cheaper. Though for the extra money i'd just go with Midwest Express to LGA.
You'll be very satisfied with Midwest Express...other A.netters will agree
The seats on the Midwest 717's, instead of the standard 2x3, they're 2x2. This is what you'd be getting for a coach-class price:

I haven't checked the price, but I'm pretty sure you could find an AA flight MIA-DFW-LAX on either the 777, 763, or both.

Quoting Warszawa (Reply 4): Are you looking for a roundtrip, or one way? If roundtrip, let us know the dates you're coming back.

Thanks for the indications (for all). Warszawa, in fact i will fly:
Aug 14 - Florida-LAX
Aug 27 - LAX - New York City
Sept 2 - LGA-MIA
Sept 7 - MIA-Bahamas-MIA
Sept 10 - MIA-GIG (back home)
And i have to fly into LAX because it's there that UCLA will pick me up to Irvine. I have a Biz Conference there during 14 days.
There are any kind of service LGB-LAX ? If there is , i can fly my first time with JetBlue (the owner, David, is Brazilian and i think it's a very smart CEO!!!). Continental seems to have the best service, and i hate AA!
I appreciate the help given and i will try to book for Florida-California Jet Blue, California-NY Midwest and NY-FL Continental.
If anyone needs indications for Brazil and Rio in special, do not hesitate in contact me.
Thanks very much !!!!!!
Felipe

LipeGIG - Geez lucky you...all those flights and across the country - seems like it'll be a hell of a time!
Quoting LipeGIG (Reply 7): There are any kind of service LGB-LAX ?
Unfortunately there isnt, you'd have to drive to LAX or somehow find another transportation to get there. It'd be nice if you could check out JBU, but if you have to go to LAX...then the best option would be Southwest for about $12 more (MCO-BNA-LAX). Southwest is also a great airline - no IFE like Jetblue, but they still offer excellent service.
On the NYC-MIA route, Continental would be good. Right now they're pretty average on prices for September 2nd (about $127 for EWR-MIA). If you're looking for the cheapest airfare possible into the MIA area, then USA 3000 offers EWR-FLL for $87.70 [tax included] (Leave EWR 9:55am arrive FLL 12:30pm)... http://www.usa3000.com

Okay ,
I book Southwest (just the way you suggest) MCO-BNA-LAX due to the time i have to get on LAX (before noon).
For LAX-NYC i include a stop on ORD to visit a friend during one day. I get CO thru IAH.
From ORD-EWR i get a non stop from CO
Back to Miami, i will use LGA-FLL with JET BLUE!
The last three are reserved, the first ticket (Southwest) was purchased due to the short time i have.
Thanks very much my friends
