Hey there I am not familiar with the discount airlines in Europe and was looking for a one flight anytime between August 9-12. What kind of low-fare options do I have?
Its seems easyjet is the way to go unless you want to go on AF? or IB? I did a month search and most all days are 88 euro RT information below -

If you want a very cheap option to get to Spain from France, I will fly to BCN first and then to MAD. Vueling has a fare sale right now where you can get a one way flight CDG-BCN for 10 euros + tax = 32.97 Euros... then you can take the bus or get a cheap puente aereo flight...
Puente Aereo is anything but cheap. Normal fares for Puente Aereo are around €300. Remember that those are open tickets...no flight number, no dates, no time of departure and you use them whenever you want, so you pay for the convenience...it's like taking the bus.
However, there are "closed" flights or a few seats on some "Puente Aereo" flights that are sold as such. In this case you can find some good fares at times, but you have to be lucky. Anyway, I think that the airline that continuously offers the best fares between MAD and BCN would be Spanair.

I bought a 7 euro ticket to Paris in March on Easy Jet, but most of the time I fly Air France and Air Europa which tend to be cheap. I would check Air Plus Comet for flights to Paris.

Nygfan84,
I would only suggest you to look carefully to all the possibilities : the cheapest is often not the one everybody believe :
Some of my best friends live in Barcelona and they almost always fly AF when they come to Paris for visit, as AF is most of the time cheapest than Easy Jet or any other.
It could be the same for MAD.
They came to visit last October. For the dates they wanted, the ticket was 89€ with AF, 139€ with Easy Jet and 179€ with IB. Round trip and all taxes included.
Be also very careful to the restrictions applied with certain fares.
Easy jet seems very attractive sometimes but they give their fares without the taxes, and the various additional costs they charge for the reservations an payments on the web.
