Hey All- My first thread!

I will be traveling to the UK in August, and I would like to travel in First Class. The best route seems to be NW- TVC-DTW and BA DTW-LHR but I would like to know if the First/Business on the 777 (DTW-LHR) is as good as taking an extra leg and going TVC-DTW-YYZ and taking the BA 747.

If you would like to duplicate the flight search:
At Orbitz.com:
click:expanded search options
one way
TVC-LHR
Aug 1 (anytime in august will work)
Cabin: First

Thanks,

Tim

HI

Well from what I've seen (BA.COM) there is only enough seats in FIRST from
YYZ-LHR on AUG 1st for the first flight of the day
Depart YYZ-18:25
Arrive LHR (next day)- 06:20

AIRCRAFT: 747-400
Duration: 6hrs 55mins
Price ( canadian dollar) = $ 7997.95

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend BA'S FIRST CLASS PRODUCT ,I'VE FLOWN IN IT 5 TIMES MYSELF ( my dad's BA staff) and it is HEAVEN on a plane , you have a personal video player , food when ever you want meatle cutllery 6ft 6 long flat bed , but you probably already knew that. Fly in FIRST is all I can say

DTW-LHR
B-777
Depart DTW : 18:30
Arrive LHR : 06:45 ( next day)
Duration : 7hrs 15mins

Price ( Canadian Dollar) = $ 7997.95

So i would recomend Flying the extra distance to YYZ , and flying FIRST to lhr , because you get to fly on a 747-400 , you get the extra internal flight and it's shorter in duration

Happy Flying !!  wave

P.S : Thank you for choseing to fly BA and also for going to the U.K ( trust me England is better than anywhere else in Europe ) I've been to America 14 times so i hope you will love England just as much as i love America

Alright, first off, don't use any of those "bulk ticket" sites (orbitz, travelocity, expedia, etc etc).

Why?

Cause if something goes wrong with your ticket, its one hell of an expensive phone call back to the states to figure out what went wrong.

Why in the world would you be calling back to the states if your flight plans go awry?

Those bulk ticket sites actually purchase seats on a particular flight. Those seats are owned by that particular site. When you purchase a ticket from them, they still own the seat, they are just allowing you to use that seat. Keep in mind that you are not in control of the seat, in this case Orbitz.com has control of the seat.

-----------

Off of my rant about those stupid sites....

As to your question about the seatings....I guess it would be up to you. Both planes are great. If you haven't flown on the 744, I highly recommend it. However, if you have, I would honestly do only 1 international leg. Immigration is a pain in the ass to do once....but twice  headache

Either way, have a good trip and choose wisely.

Yes i agree, don't book through " Travel" sites , Book through the airlines web sites for THEIR flight only , don't try to book another airlines flight on BA.com , you will only end up flying AA via LAX or something like that.

I just use those sites to see which flights and airlines fly the routes. As you could see if you did the search, I think I had four different airlines to choose from, but I think the BA first is better than the rest. But I don't book the tickets, I just tell my agent (travel) where I want to go and she books it for me. Off the airline site of course. But thank you all for your help. Also I have another question: Which would be the best way to get tickets from LHR to Portsmouth. I'd like to take a train but I cannot find a site for any railways in the UK. If I cannot get a decent first class train ride down (I love trains) I'll just buy a car and drive. Thanks,

Tim

Alright I'll make another thread for the LHR-Portsmouth bit. Thanks all for the advice. Looking forward to flying on BA!
