Harrisburg International Airport has been serving Central Pennsylvania for over 100 years. First, in 1898, the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army was stationed here. Then, the first airplanes landed in 1918 at what was then called Olmsted Air Force Base. By the time it was decommissioned in 1969, the base had grown to employ 11,400 civilians. At this point, Harrisburg International Airport began to serve the public, under the ownership of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

[Recently extended from 45 m wide to 60 metres for A380]

East West runway 09/27, 2286 metres in length X 45m width

Taxiways 23 metres wide taxiways run the full length of both runways, with high speed runway exits to increase runway efficiency

my hometown airport is PGV in greenville, NC and is 150 by about 6,000 feet. Runway 2/20 and is great to see 1000 feet from above.

6C/24C is not currently used, although they might use it during the planned expansion of 6R/24L to 11,250 ft (or so). It is 7096 ft.

All runways are 150 ft wide.

5 West/ 23 West.. There is already a Left and Right.. and this runway is going west of 5L/23R..

FAA.. go figure.. Appendix C Page 2.

It's from 2003 but the most up to date.. It states the FAA recommendation is to extend 5R/23L and add 5W/23W.. and all of this is post-Midway
